NARS Lipgloss in Scandal

I don’t know how many times I’ve mentioned that I’m not a big fan of lip glosses. Trying this out wasn’t a sudden change of heart but more of a “maybe-it-will-work-this-time” kind of thing.

Because makeup shops here in San Fernando, Pampanga are very limited, I kind of have resulted into buying online. Pick a few makeup products from Beauty Manila, shop Korean skin care products at Sephora, or in this case buy the NARS Lipgloss your friend bought online but didn't work on her. Yep, that's how I ended up with this beauty.

The Good Bits:

“Sheer Crushed Cherry” is how NARS described this shade and in my own opinion, it did live up to that description. I was also impressed at how it didn’t feel sticky on the lips at all. One of the main reasons why I hate wearing lip gloss is that they can sometimes be ridiculously glossy (in a you-wouldn’t-find-flattering kind of glossiness), sticky, and heavy; but this one isn’t one of those lip gloss products. It made my lips look naturally glossed and the tint is just enough to give the wearer a youthful and light glow. True enough, the doe-foot applicator smoothly glides on your lips so you won’t have a hard time using this product whether you’re a pro or not. The packaging is simple and classy. That’s actually one of the things I admire with brands such as MAC, NARS, and Laura Mercier just to name a few. Packaging matters a bit to me. I actually include this in my travel makeup essentials if I'd want that quick non-sticky glossy feel on my lips.

The Bad Bits:

Because it’s a lip gloss, you wouldn’t really expect for it to last the whole day. It lasted for like 4-5 hours on my lips. So this product won’t be my go-to lip product since I’m the kind of girl who’s always on the go and touch-ups can be such a hassle for me.

Over-All:

This is, by far, my most favorite lip gloss. And nope, I still did not have a change of heart. I’m giving this product a rating of 8/10. I might be a bit bias though because lip glosses really aren’t my cup of tea. Although combined with my favorite lipsticks such as my Chanel or my Lipstick Queen, this can be a more awesome product. Since it doesn’t feel too oily and heavy on the lips, using other products with it will be a good idea. This will help give your lips that youthful glow and shine.
