OOTD: A Year Full of Changes and Challenges

2016 has been a crazy year for me. It is crazy both in a good and not-so-good way. A lot of things have changed and adjustments have to be made. Some people who had a pretty sucky year might have said, “I’m so glad 2016 is done…” Darling, you should know that just because the year ended means the sucky things of 2016 will suddenly disappear. News flash! You still need to go through and deal with them.

 My realizations and confessions:

I will not deny the fact that the pain of the past still haunts me up to now; but I learned that the best way to deal with it is to appreciate the good things that came out of that pain.

I don’t think I can be the expected typical wife. The way I handle things may be a bit unconventional but most often than not it works for us. We have different ways n how we deal with things. It’s best not to judge.

I need to let go of things and people who (1) are unhealthy for me and (2) who do not want to stay. Life goes on and my world will not stop revolving just because I lost something or someone.

There will be people who will do not-so-good things to you and it will get to you most of the time. How to deal with it? Learn to realize that we are all human and we all mistakes. You do not necessarily have to forget (because that is how you learn), but forgive. It will take time but you can learn to let go of the hate. Don’t think about it too much. Life outside of that toxic situation is so much better and there’s so many good things you can still look forward to.

Family is family wherever you go and whoever you become. My family has always been there for me and has been continuously showing their love and support to me whatever new ventures I do. I suddenly remembered this line from Kacey Musgraves’ song, “Yeah, friends come in handy, but family is family.”

You will need different kinds of friends in your life. I am glad for all the new people I’ve met this year. Each has taught me various imperative life lessons and I could not have survived 2016 without them.

I’m not expecting 2017 to be easy and I’m not wishing it to be better as well. I know that the year will be better through me. I cannot leave things to fate… I make my own fate. Cheers to making 2017 awesome!

  2. Really glad I found your blog this year lady! I love reading your posts because they are so genuine. After being in a four year relationship I think the biggest thing I've learned is compromise. Like you, I see now that arguments are going to happen and we're going to disagree. But all that matters is how we work through them and compromise. I like the section about family as well. Family will always come first no matter what! 2016 was definitely a year of learning. Cheers to 2017 and wishing you all the success!!

  5. Ah, you are such a beauty, girlie! I love that lip color on you and your entire outfit here! I love the attitude you have for the new year, it's very much realistic. I've been hearing a lot of leave this or that in 2016, but you're right, all of those things won't magically disappear, we have to deal with them first before they're out of our lives entirely. I also love that you mentioned we should forgive, not forget. This is my life philosophy. I've learned that by holding grudges or anger towards someone only ends up hurting myself, while that person is out living their life not thinking about me at all. It's best to just let it go, but remember what that person's behavior taught us and to not allow those actions to affect us again in the future. Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you're having a wonderful start to 2017!

  6. I really like your words here! Things will not dissapear with the beginning of a new year but you can bring everything you learnt from the past year into the new one, to make it better. This is how I do it :D I hope your marriage will be beautiful and I completely agree with you that the most important is commitment. You can work everything out in a relationship as long as you know that you will love each other til the end of days :)
You look beautiful as always and I also really enjoy your pretty instagrams every day!
    Sending much love!

  7. This was absolutely beautiful! As you get older, many people fade out of your life. I know it was that way for me. You become wiser and can truly SEE people for who they are. I've let go of others. Everyone takes different paths. Not everyone is on the same one. You are so beautiful! Your skin. Your hair. Your makeup. PERFECT! Wishing you the best in 2017.
