How I Take Care of My Underarms

I used to have a problematic underarm area. I used to be one of those who keep on searching for ways and products to help them look brighter, or at least the same color as my skin. It’ll look pretty awkward if it’s whiter than my actual color anyway, right? Well, they're not perfect, but they look way better than they did before. How did I manage to get them looking like this now?

The Perfect Fat Loss Diet for You

What do you eat in a day?” I get asked that a lot. And while it’s easy to just answer that question just to get it over and done with, I know that a big part of why people want to know is because some would want to replicate it with the hopes of getting the same result as I did. However, it’s not that simple. I do answer questions though about if I still eat rice, do I do intermittent fasting, how many times in a day do I eat… Those are simple questions. But the details of my diet are a big mystery to a lot of people (except of course when you see me post my lunch on social media, but that’s just it, because I eat 5-6 times a day).

Why Using Sex Toys Can Be Good for You

I know you haven’t read about something like this in my blog before, but if you follow me on my social media accounts, you know how much I advocate for the use of sex toys and being sex positive in general. To settle things about being SEX POSITIVE first, be reminded that it isn’t about being open to hooking up or anything like that. Being sex positive means I openly talk about safe sex, and I advocate for the normalization of conversations about it to help people be informed of facts rather than misconceptions about it and all. I am very much aware that conversations about sex is still taboo here in the Philippines, but with the misinformation and misconceptions spreading around about it, I think it’s high time those of us who can, should stand up and speak out.

It’s not a big secret that I lost A LOT of weight ever since I started my fitness journey in 2018. It had not been an easy journey, but it had been a good one. Of course, there were some questions about how I lost it and all. So, let me list down the top 5 frequently asked questions some of you ask about my health and fitness journey.

On Choosing Implant as my Birth Control Method

In all honesty, sex education here in the Philippines is very lacking. Although there is already the
Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012, which calls for the provision of funding for contraceptives and sexuality education in the public school curriculum, it still has to deal with the very conservative culture of the Philippines led by the church. I have received a lot of messages from different social media platforms about different birth control options, and even the use of the Yuzpe Method (we’ll talk about that in a while). And from all the panicking and worrying girls who have asked for my advice, I came to realize that, for now, it is up to us sex positive people to help others be informed of their choices and how to practice safe sex.

A Letter to My 25-Year-Old Self

Dear 25-Year-Old Gel,

This is unexpected, but I believe needed. Your 25th year in this world would open a lot of new things for you to explore, especially since this is also the year when you move out of mom and dad’s place and decide to live on your own. Kudos to that! Remember when we were in uni watching Sex and the City and hoped we can be a mix of Carrie and Samantha? Living on our own in the big city with a satisfyingly good job, and then ordering cocktails in the evening with our girlfriends? Well, our life isn’t exactly like that, but still also something like that.

My CrossFit Journey

When I started my CrossFit journey, it was just because I was looking for a new challenge. I had been going to the gym consistently everyday for almost four months that time, and I felt like I needed to up my game. And seeing some of my friends on social media doing CrossFit, made me kind of wanna know what the fuss is all about.

My Current Diet and Why It Works for Me

I’m actually on the fence whether I should go for a more click-baitish kind of title like, “the perfect weight loss diet” and all that, but I’m sticking with what’s real and I will share with you the kind of diet that works for me and what I call it.

Staying Fit and Healthy During Quarantine

During the beginning of the quarantine, I was one of those people who are worried about staying fit and healthy while staying indoors. Of course, this means I’d have limited time to shop plus all the gyms, even our CrossFit Box, will not be operating. My feed is just filled with “missing the gym” memes, I tell you. But staying fit and healthy during this time can still be done.

My Journey with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)

Before we begin, let me just remind you that I am not a doctor, nor in the medical field. What I’m about to share with you is just my personal journey, my doctor’s advice, how I dealt with it, and how I won the battle against it. In no way am I promoting products in this blog post, as I just want to share with you this life changing journey that made me believe that everything’s possible through genuine body love, hard work, and discipline.

Okay, let’s start!

Getting To Know My Body Better

Not trying to sound tita and all that, but I’ve been really health conscious lately. I watch everything from the food I eat to the workout I do. I make sure that most of the things I do (most, because I still have little unhealthy treats for myself hihi) will benefit my body in the long run. I want to be able to prove that I can live a long, healthy, and happy life. Just because you’re old, it doesn’t you need to be bound and chained to medications and all that, right?

#GelleeshGetsFit: My Health & Fitness Journey

If you follow me on social media, you probably already know that I lost A LOT of weight. And I’ve been getting a lot of questions as to what I did, what I ate, or what kind of workout I do. And although I still believe that what works for me may not work for other people, I guess you can say that what I do is no big secret to be honest.

My 2018 Christmas Wishlist

It might be a little late, but better than none right? My 2018 had been very eventful. I’ve had one of the best and worst moments in my life, I guess. I’ve learned a lot from everything and I’m not saying that I’ll be making the best decisions from now on, but I’m hoping I have become smarter and that I won’t repeat the same mistakes I did. No guarantee though, but I’ll give it a try. It isn’t always as easy as how you thought things are, you know?

Healthy Habits – For a Healthier and Better Me

One of the things I’ve learned throughout the course of my “trying to live a healthier life” is that losing weight does not always equate to being healthy; but of course, that doesn’t also mean that obesity is the way to go. In fact, my idea of advocating body love is about loving your body and staying healthy through properly taking care of it.
