So, What is Your Excuse?

“What is your excuse?”

You’ve probably heard or read that from a lot of “fitness” influencers and it might have made some of you feel guilty about not being able to go on a “diet” or workout at a gym, because they would often be followed by a story of how someone worked hard to lose weight and become fit. Heck, even my story has been used for that purpose. Not directly, but I’ve received messages like, “sana ako rin” or “goals!” And as much as I take those as compliments, since I really did work hard to be where I am right now, I don’t like using my story and struggles to compare my choices and journey with others.

Life Lately: To New Beginnings and Wonderful Memories

 Hey, it’s been a while.

A lot has happened since I last uploaded something here, but I’m back and I’m hoping it’s for good. I have so much to share about what I have been up to lately and the new things I’m into. Not a total 360 degrees change, but more of I’ve finally decided to take the risk and jump onto the new things I’ve long been putting on hold.

The Perfect Fat Loss Diet for You

What do you eat in a day?” I get asked that a lot. And while it’s easy to just answer that question just to get it over and done with, I know that a big part of why people want to know is because some would want to replicate it with the hopes of getting the same result as I did. However, it’s not that simple. I do answer questions though about if I still eat rice, do I do intermittent fasting, how many times in a day do I eat… Those are simple questions. But the details of my diet are a big mystery to a lot of people (except of course when you see me post my lunch on social media, but that’s just it, because I eat 5-6 times a day).

My CrossFit Journey

When I started my CrossFit journey, it was just because I was looking for a new challenge. I had been going to the gym consistently everyday for almost four months that time, and I felt like I needed to up my game. And seeing some of my friends on social media doing CrossFit, made me kind of wanna know what the fuss is all about.

My Current Diet and Why It Works for Me

I’m actually on the fence whether I should go for a more click-baitish kind of title like, “the perfect weight loss diet” and all that, but I’m sticking with what’s real and I will share with you the kind of diet that works for me and what I call it.

Staying Fit and Healthy During Quarantine

During the beginning of the quarantine, I was one of those people who are worried about staying fit and healthy while staying indoors. Of course, this means I’d have limited time to shop plus all the gyms, even our CrossFit Box, will not be operating. My feed is just filled with “missing the gym” memes, I tell you. But staying fit and healthy during this time can still be done.

My Journey with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)

Before we begin, let me just remind you that I am not a doctor, nor in the medical field. What I’m about to share with you is just my personal journey, my doctor’s advice, how I dealt with it, and how I won the battle against it. In no way am I promoting products in this blog post, as I just want to share with you this life changing journey that made me believe that everything’s possible through genuine body love, hard work, and discipline.

Okay, let’s start!

OOTD: Going Back Isn't Always Bad

As much as I would hate to admit it, insecurity never left my system.

There would be times when I’d yearn for validation because I am still often haunted by the seemingly perfect faces and bodies I see on my social media feed. And I know that I always preach about confidence, but the truth is, sometimes I get so drowned with all these images of how I should be that I would look at myself and feel disgusted no matter how far I’ve gone in my fitness journey.

REVIEW: Neat 3B Face Saver Gel

Sweat is unavoidable especially when you have an active lifestyle like I do. I sweat heaps and sometimes it just gets too annoying. It would have probably been okay if it was during a workout, but I could sweat a lot just by walking going to the office or even when I’m on my way out of the subdivision to meet my friends and I have makeup on. Now that is when sweat shouldn’t show up much.

OOTD: That Good Kind of Change

You all know it hasn’t been an easy journey. And even up to now, I am constantly battling with my monsters – my insecurities and old bad habits. They kick in every once in a while, but my determination to finally make this a permanent good kind of change is far stronger.

Getting To Know My Body Better

Not trying to sound tita and all that, but I’ve been really health conscious lately. I watch everything from the food I eat to the workout I do. I make sure that most of the things I do (most, because I still have little unhealthy treats for myself hihi) will benefit my body in the long run. I want to be able to prove that I can live a long, healthy, and happy life. Just because you’re old, it doesn’t you need to be bound and chained to medications and all that, right?

#GelleeshGetsFit: My Health & Fitness Journey

If you follow me on social media, you probably already know that I lost A LOT of weight. And I’ve been getting a lot of questions as to what I did, what I ate, or what kind of workout I do. And although I still believe that what works for me may not work for other people, I guess you can say that what I do is no big secret to be honest.

My Christmas Wishlist

… I’ve been waiting here. Santa that’s my only wish this year!

Christmas is coming soon! One of things I love doing during Christmas season is shopping! Not for myself though, but more for other people. But of course, there are still a few stuff I’d want to have. They’re not a lot and not too expensive, but I have this habit of not buying something that’s not a NEED even when it comes to makeup and skin care. So without further ado, let me share with you the things I plan on purchasing for myself this Christmas season.

On Being A Healthier Millennial Woman

It’s not easy to choose the healthier path nowadays especially if you live in the big city. There are just so many temptations! New food parks popping here and there, new cheese-loaded dishes that you just need to try, and not to mention the colorful overly-sweet drinks that you need to buy just because they’re so irresistibly Instagram-able (thank God I don’t like sweets though so that’s minus one unhealthy snack for me).

A Visit to Polarity Physiotherapy Center

Commuting is kind of like an everyday and a normal thing for most of us, right? But what if I tell you that every day, I commute from Katipunan to Pampanga for work? Well, actually, that wasn’t just a “what if.” I really do stay in Katipunan and work in Pampanga and, yes, I commute every day.

Healthy Habits – For a Healthier and Better Me

One of the things I’ve learned throughout the course of my “trying to live a healthier life” is that losing weight does not always equate to being healthy; but of course, that doesn’t also mean that obesity is the way to go. In fact, my idea of advocating body love is about loving your body and staying healthy through properly taking care of it.

Tony Moly Hot Pepper Body Gel

Slimming coffees to slimming juices and pills and stuff... People will never stop looking for ways on how they can easily lose weight. There would be testimonies on how people have really lost weight from it but the real question is – is it the safest way? There could be like side effects and, well, it doesn’t work on everyone. I’ve tried using slimming coffee and it just gave me a migraine. So, honestly, for me, the safest way is still diet and exercise. But of course, there’s the occasional trying out of other products especially if it looks safe enough like the Tony Moly Hot Pepper Body Gel I bought because it was on sale.

Too Lazy or Busy to Work Out?

Hey guys! It has been raining real hard and you know what's best to do when it's raining. Well, yeah, aside from mating (LOL) it's really the perfect time to just sit back lazily at home, watch TV and then sleep. But then after the rainy season you'd complain about how big you got. Well, you know what you did and stop blaming the weather. I mean, seriously. This is kind of like a tip/rant post. I kind of don't approve of when people complain about being to busy or because it's raining that's why they can't find time to go and work out or they're too stressed out to go on a diet yet. Well, I'm not trying to point out anyone in particular but MYSELF. Yes, I was like that a few months ago before I started and decided to really workout.

PFT Support Group: Balanced

From my last PFT post, I've told you guys how I have gone into a super crash diet phase, which totally didn't do me good. Though it may have helped me lose weight, it actually also created a hole in my pocket. Sucks, I know. Anyway, my eating is normalized now. I eat rice and eat good food and still go to the gym regularly; however, stress has been getting the best of me these past few days and I've missed a few days in the gym especially during these last three days because I've caught the flu. Boo! I need more vit. C!
