Brazilian Virgin No More!

Fearless. Fun. Spontaneous.

That's how my friends would usually describe me. I love trying out new things, I'm quite adventurous and unlike some people, my bucket list is not just for show but something I would really love to make a reality. You know how I've already gotten my first tat, and it was awesome (at least for me) and how I've tried various hairstyles and hair colors. So, this time, I've had another one crossed out of my bucket list - getting a Brazilian Wax. So it's not exactly something, which was never done before but it's something, which is not a very normal thing to do here in our country. I mean, come on! A lot of my fellow beauty and fashion bloggers might have been doing this regularly or might have tried it before but I know a lot of people who haven't because our country, is by nature, quite conservative and getting a Brazilian wax can be thought of something kinky by some people.

When I was invited by Monique to attend the launch of their New York Cupcake Vanilla Wax, I was quite excited to go. Honestly, I haven't waxed any part of my body because, as some of you may have known, my preferred hair removal method is threading, which is just for my brows and upper lip. So, I know, that this will be quite a new experience for me.

Getting to Strip Ministry of Waxing in Serendra was honestly, quite a drag for me since I live all the way from the North. But I know it will be all worth it, so whatever. But please have a branch somewhere up north. Pretty please with cherry on top! ;) So, when I arrived at the Strip Serendra, the theme was just pure awesomeness. Monique told us that every Strip Branch has its own theme and for their Serendra branch, it's the Amsterdam streets. Pretty amazing, don't you think? Then, Monique told us that we're all getting a Brazilian wax.

What have I gotten myself into???

It's quite expected that maybe they'd offer us to try one of their waxing services; but it actually never did occur to me that they'd be asking us to try their Brazilian Wax. Getting waxed down there? Exciting experience but quite scary. I mean, it will hurt! I know it will. I remember a friend of mine who was supposed to have a Brazilian Wax from a different waxing salon but never continued because the first stripping hurt her. But knowing Strip, who is sisters with Browhaus (wherein I had the best Brow threading ever), this should be a different experience. So here's how my waxing story went:

I went inside the room and it was quite spacious and clean, definitely a must when this is where you're Brazilian wax would be done. I forgot to ask the name of my Striperella because I was quite nervous over the fact that I'm gonna spread my legs open to a stranger and have my first Brazilian wax. So, she asked me to put my stuff in a closet with a large mirror inside, and asked me to take off my skirt and panties as she'd be back after I'm done with my prep and all.

Done, done and done!

She knocked after a few minutes and I was already done, by then. She asked me to lie down on the bed and she took off my towel. In my mind I was like, NOOOOOOOOO! But outside I was like - :). She gave me a brief intro on what she'd be doing so I asked her, how painful would it be. She said I can tolerate it so I said, okay (with a smile).

She asked me to spread my left leg a bit more and then she applied the hot vanilla wax, I knew this is it. She placed the strip on the part of my vajayjay where the wax was applied and pulled and tugged it a bit, I think, and she asked me to inhale, so I did, and then....

I didn't make any sound, I didn't scream and the pain was, indeed, tolerable. So she continued and told me that she's done with the Bikini line waxing and asked me if I would want to continue and go all off and I answered with full confidence, Yeah!

Inhale. RIIIIP. Inhale. RIIIIP. Inhale. RIIIIP.

And so the cycle of inhaling and ripping the strip of with my hair continues. Perhaps, I can say, that the most painful part of the whole Brazilian wax was at the middle part, but it was okay, and as I've said, tolerable. Afterwards, she applied the Peace + all over the waxed area and I'm done. They said that they can finish the Brazilian Wax in 15 minutes flat and it's either they did or they've done mine ahead of the time limit because it was quite fast, honestly.

I went out of the room with a smile on my face, a task crossed out of bucket list, and just like how Jessie J sings it, "I'm feeling sexy and free..." Oh, yeah, baby! So, they also gave me a post treatment care booklet containing the Do's and Don't after your treatment. Then I call it now my Vajayjay waxing Bible. Haha!

I know a lot of you may be quite scared to try out the Brazilian Wax. Yes, there is pain but again, it's tolerable. So if you want to have a not-to-regret Brazilian Waxing experience, I highly suggest you to Strip Ministry of Waxing. Currently, they have two branches, one in Serendra and the other is in Greenbelt 5. I'm so going back to Strip after a few months for another Brazilian Wax. I got hooked!

P.S. If you want a before and after picture, FORGET IT. LOL
