This year, the boyfriend and I are planning on more travels
(hopefully our time would permit us because we already predicted that 2015 will
be a busy year for us, career-wise) and that means that I need to learn how to
pack quick and light, right? So I decided that I should be on the lookout now
for an efficient makeup remover that could also save me some space; and while I
was in SM Marilao last weekend, I dropped by at Watsons to just check things
out and I found this makeup cleansing tissue pack!
The Pure Derm Makeup Cleansing Tissues contains 15 sheets,
claims to remove makeup in one step (wiping, I guess? LOL), deep cleanses and
moisturizes, and has green tea extract.
"Makeup Cleansing
Tissues thoroughly remove eyeliner, shadow, lipstick, and blush, even
waterproof mascara without skin irritation. This pocket type package is
convenient to handle and use during trip or simple outdoor activities."
The Good Bits:
First of all, it costs less than 30 Pesos (if I remember it
right) so definitely an inexpensive find; and it does save me space as I can
just slip it in one of the pockets of my bag. The tissue, itself, doesn't break
easily and one tissue was enough to remove 70% of the makeup on my face. It was
able to remove the waterproof Maybelline eyeliner I had, so thumbs up to that.
Not bad for something this inexpensive, no? It did not give me any breakouts,
it does not have a funky smell, so I'm good!
The Bad Bits:
It wasn't able to FULLY remove the Happy Skin Eye Love View
Pencil & Marker Eyebrow Duo on my brows, so too bad; but for its price it
is a good catch. Nothing much I can complain.
Over-All:
It did remove a considerable amount of makeup on my face
with just one tissue... Because that is the challenge I would like to give it.
If you would look closely at the before and after photo, you will still see
remnants of the brow product and some of the highlights on my inner eye corner;
but it did its job good. So for that, I am giving this product a 7/10. Not the holy grail of all
cleansing tissues, but it will do. And as part of my routine now, I remove
first the eyeliner and all the other details in my makeup using this cleansing
tissue and then go and wash my face using a facial cleanser or a facial scrub
to remove all of the products off of my face completely. But since I would,
mostly, use it for my travels with the boyfriend and I will not be wearing much
makeup then, I guess this will do the job quite well.
In makeup school, our professors recommend using Giggles Baby Wipes, which is relatively more affordable for a little over a peso per sheet. However, I liked how the Pure Derm wipes take up very little space.
ReplyDeleteI will try the Giggles nga para sa bahay and the Pure Derm when I'm on travel lang :)
DeleteIt's affordable nga! Although I still use makeup removers and then wipe my face with cleansing wipes to make sure all makeup is gone. I tend to go with heavy coverage and long lasting products, even waterproof for eye and lip makeup, so I really do have to use a combo of makeup removers and wipes then cleanse my face with a mild cleanser... and the rest of my skincare. LOL Anyway, sometimes I go for the big cleansing tissues to save money but I also have some in this size for travel. Maybe I should buy these next time I go out of Manila.
ReplyDeleteYep, it really is more suited for travelling. Liit din niya kasi. Hehe
DeleteLike your shirt!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Charles! :D
DeleteIt's reasonably priced and I think it's convenient though I think I need more than 1 sheet of cleansing wipe because of the hard to remove gel eyeliners :) I love the packaging too!
ReplyDeleteYeah, you will be needing two or three for the full makeup including the gel liner :)
DeleteNot bad indeed for an inexpensive product and I did see some results!:) Great review! Hope you can do more traveling this year!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ava! :)
