Life Lately: Starting the New Year

It’s been a tough start of the year for me.

It’s not because I’ve been encountering problems, but more of challenges and adjustments. In my last “Life Lately” post, I talked about my challenges and adjustments, and I guess they have been extended until now. I only had one blog post for the month of January and as much as I’d want to write about a lot of things, work has been bombarding me with tons of stuff. Hey, I’m not complaining. I’m just saying that I know what to prioritize more, and it’s what puts bread on the table.

On my first few months back in Pampanga

Well I’ve been hanging out with the younger employees in our organization and it’s been really fun. We would hang out at my place while watching a movie or we would go out to have dinner or coffee around Pampanga when I’m in the area. Hey, Pampanga’s the culinary capital of the Philippines, so why not take advantage of my stay here and go try out the food places around the area?

Last December, I’ve also enrolled in a gym, but wasn’t able to continue the next month. I’ve been travelling a lot for work, so I wasn’t able to fully utilize the gym membership. Whenever I’m at my place, I would be too stressed from the day’s work so I would get a lot of sleep, not to mention I cook my own meals and clean the apartment by myself. But I made up for it by walking a lot. I’m also looking into checking out Anytime Fitness in Vistamall since it’s a 24-hour gym and I can go ANYTIME I want. I can rest first without any worries about what time the gym would be closing and all that. But we’ll see what my plans would be. I’ll update you guys.

Bangkok, see you soon!

So in a few weeks, I’m going to Bangkok! I’m planning on going out for a few drinks at night and, of course, check out the local beauty products I can try out. If you’ll be in Bangkok too later this month, let’s hang! Or if you’ve been there and you have any recommendations as to what I should do and try out there, please write them down at the comments section below!

I’ve been living on my own since I was 25 years old. And it may be fun because “your house, your rules;” but it can also be stressful because “your house, your bills.” Haha! It’s fun but it’s certainly not easy. That’s why I kind of hate it when people waste their money and time because when you have your own place, you have so much to think about - bills, cleaning, groceries, and other maintenance needed around the house. I’ve been buying less makeup, less clothes, and more on healthy food and cleaning materials (#REALAdulting #REALTita). On the more positive note though, it will help you really grow and mature.

  1. I was wondering how you were doing! Always deal with life first. Blogging will always be here. Don't let others pressure you. Have a family when you and your husband are ready.

  2. Oh my gosh, if I had a dollar for every time someone bugged Ben and I about getting married or having kids already... Well, I could pay for a wedding AND a baby! But seriously, we are perfectly happy right now, and we know those things will happen when it's supposed to. Just tune all those nosy people out!
Love that you still made it a priority to walk walk walk everywhere! It's all those little things that all up to better health. And sleep is SUPER important!
Keep prioritizing yourself! The hard work and patience will always pay off!

  3. Sounds like you've been really busy! And it sounds like you have a lot of things planned for this year. I totally know what it's like to sacrifice some things initially, so other things can happen first. I hope people stop bugging you about having kids! I love that you guys are being responsible about it and realizing it's not the right time. Good for you! I've just started my diet last week and it's so hard haha. I don't have too much trouble going to the gym, but I know how hard it can be. Hoping for the best for you Gellie! Kick 2018's butt!!
