The Cosmetics and Otaku Expo at SM Megamall

All excited for the Otaku Expo (Dad,Mum,Kim and Czai)
Sunday, September 04, 2011 - I went to SM Megamall to attend two events. (1) The Otaku Expo 2011 and (2) The 4th Phil-Cosmetics Expo. We went first to the Otaku Expo since I'm with the whole family and my two sisters are the anime addicts in the family so we visited the bazaars at the Otaku Expo first.

My ticket to the Otaku Expo! <3

Anime Figures!

More Anime figures!

Gundam <3

Cosplay Stuff

Czai with her toy <3
With Lelouch :D
There were action figures, Gundam toys and of course, cosplayers. My sis was supposed to buy a Gundam toy as part of her collection when she this Kanade action figure. Kanade is one of the main characters from her favorite anime, Angel Beats; so instead of a Gundam toy, she ended up buying that for P1,300.00.

Where I bought some Nail Art Stuff

Dollface Cosmetics

Ever Bilena
After the Otaku Expo, we went to the Phil-Cosmetics Expo. I was super excited and also overwhelmed with all stuffs they sell there; plus at super big discounts. There weren't a lot for cosmetics; but that's a good thing, or else Imma be bankrupt before the end of the day. I was able to buy stuffs from Kairyu Nails, Ever Bilena and Careline, Go Natural and Digital Traincase.

More from Kairyu Nails

50% Discount on Ever Bilena Products!
I was entertained by Kate Vergara, the awesomeness owner of Kairyu Nails. She taught me nail art techniques and what to do and what not to do. She is super nice and she invited me to a seminar about nail arts in Pasig. I will still have to check my sched on that. Ever Bilena and Careline had 50% discount off that day. Super big, so I bought quite a lot of stuffs from them and for Digital Traincase, they were overloaded with NYX, EOS, China Glaze, OPI and the Charm Brushes to name a few. I also passed by the booth of Mary Kay and the beauty consultant there invited me for a free spa at their Timog Branch. Will also have to check my sched for that.

GET UP!
After buying stuffs from the Phil-Cosmetics Expo, we went down to Penshoppe and I also bought a few stuffs there and got my GET UP access and 2 stamps for the Fan Conference Card

It was a tiring but super fun day for me and for the rest of my family. I will be making a separate haul post so that I can show you one by one the stuffs I bought without having to make a too-long blog post. I wasn't able to meet up with my fellow blogger friends because I really forgot to text them. I was too excited and overwhelmed. MissGennD texted me as we were heading back to the parking lot and that's when I realized that I was supposed to meet the others. I just called her and had a mini-chika session over the phone and scheduled another meet up.

Hope to meet other beauty and fashion bloggers soon and till next post! ;)

Ao No Exorcist

image from: http://www.myanimelist.com

The story is about Rin Okumura, originally the son of Satan, who is raised by a famous exorcist, Father Fujimoto. After an unforgettable incident, which caused Father Fujimoto’s death, Rin went to True Cross Academy with his twin brother Yukio to study exorcism. At True Cross Academy, Rin faced challenges not only with his studies but also with regard to his being the son of Satan. He also met new friends, who have the same goal... be an exorcist.

This anime is still on-going and was recommended by my sister. It may have a different story but it kind of remind me of Bleach. I enjoyed the story and I just can’t wait for the new episodes!

The Good Bits

It has a very unique story line. Imagine: A son of Satan wanting to be an exorcist – very ironic and unusual. Some of the characters can be very unpredictable in a very fun and entertaining way. The idea and the details they give in the story is just amazing. It makes me want to memorize the chants of the Arias, the other kinds of exorcists and the terminologies they used to define earth and hell and other places.

The Bad Bits

The storyline and concept may be unique but you can’t help but notice how predictable an episode would be after the first two. I guess it still kind of follows the trend of having one monster / demon (in this case) to defeat in each episode and little bits of info which explains why stuffs happen in the story. Oh, and I kind of do not like Yukio, physically. His character is supposed to be like this bishounen type of character since a lot of the girls in the show are after him; but he isn’t very appealing to me unlike the other bishounen from other Anime shows. Let me quote this from Rin: “Four-eyed mole face!

Over-All

I will definitely be anticipating for Ao No Exorcists’ next episodes. It made me laugh so much and the storyline itself is worth waiting for. I would be giving this anime a rating of 9/10. Watch it and tell me what you think.

FOTD: Playful Makeup Look

I wore this look during this year's Toycon at SM Megamall. The theme of this look is fun, light and  cute.; just like what Anime are supposed to be. If you like this one, read on to find out how I came up with this.

PRODUCTS USED:

FACE

- Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup (Honey Beige)
- Wish Pressed Powder (Beige)
- Clinique Pressed Powder Bronzer (True Bronze)
- Nichido Powder Blush (Cool Rum)

EYES

- NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil (Milk)
- Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color Quad (Lemon Grass | Denim Frost)
- Love & Beauty Smokey Palette (White Shade)
- Lancome High Definition Mascara

- Kawaii Liquid Eyeliner
- Wet N Wild Color Icon Brow and Eyeliner Pencil

LIPS

- Watsons Soothing Lip Balm
- NYX Round Lipstick (Fig)

HOW I DID IT?

First, I applied the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup (Honey Beige) using my Marionnaud N33 Fluid Foundation Brush. To set the foundation, I applied the Wish Pressed Powder (Beige) using my ELF Total Face Brush.

For my eyes, I used the Wet N Wild Color Icon Brow and Eyeliner to draw on my brows and lengthen them; then I applied first the NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk which will serve as my base. Afterwards, I applied the Denim Frost shade of the Mary Kay Eye Color Quad on the inner part of my lids until the crease area. Then, I applied the Lemon Grass shade, still from Mary Kay, on the outer part of my lids up to the crease area as well. Blend the part where the two colors meet so that it won't look rough. For my brow bone, I just used the White shade of my Love & Beauty Smokey Palette for highlights. After that, I applied the Lancom High Definition Mascara which lengthen and volumize my lashes but what I like about this is that it doesn't make my lashes look stiff; and since this is kind of an anime cute look, I used the Kawaii Liquid Eyeliner to create an oriental accent on my lids and then I applied the Wet N Wild Color Icon Brow and Eyeliner again but this time, half way of my waterline starting from the outer part.

On my lips I used a Watsons Soothing Lip Balm in Rasperry and then applied the NYX Round lipstick in Fig.

For contouring the nose I used Clinique Pressed Powder Bronzer (True Bronze) to create a line on each side of my nose starting from my brow and ending on the side of my nostrils. I blended them a bit so as to look natural and then I applied the white shade of the Love & Beauty Smokey Palette to accentuate and draw attention to the slimmer part of my nose.

For the last touches, I applied the Nichido Powder Blush (Cool Rum) on my cheekbone blending it slantly upwards and then I applied again the Wish Pressed Powder to set the whole look together.

I was supposed to use false lashes; but since I'm not cosplaying this time, I decided not to because it made me look like a drag queen when I tried putting it on. I love this look because it is pretty colorful but doesn't overly done. It is easy to do as well and if you try doing this, do share it to me okay? ;)

Attending Toycon 2011 (Day One)

Sister and I attended this year's Toycon. We arrived at around 3:30 PM and had to fall in line to buy our tickets for like 30 minutes!

Once we got in, we raided and checked out every booth we can go to and whichever catches our interests. There were booths selling tons of mangas for very low prices, action figures, lolita stuffs, chikari hats, anime dvd's, and other stuffs related to anime, cartoons and cosplaying.

We took pictures of some cosplayers but the two cosplayers above are the ones me and my sister loved! To have a picture with Cloud Strife, I had to get in front of all the girls flocking around him and we almost followed Galactic Pretty Boy to the CR just so we can get his picture; but we didn't push through so we left and came back after 10 minutes to look for him. Lucky us, we found him!

Our Toycon visit won't be complete without buying something. Sister bought two anime action figures.  One is Sebastian Michaelis from Kuroshitsuji and the other one is Kirino Kousaka from Ore No Imouto Ga Konnani Kawaii Wake Ga Nai.

My sister is more of the anime person and you know that I am more of the makeup loving one. That is why I was more excited to go to the Etude House grand sale after our Toycon visit. I bought only a few stuffs because the shades they offer do not match my skin tone plus the stippling brush I wanted to buy from them is still not available. I will be posting soon the stuffs I bought plus reviews.

It was a very fun bonding day with my sister. We enjoyed stalking Galactic Pretty Boy (Hahaha!), guessing which anime a certain cosplayer is role playing and looking at the action figures and other cute stuffs at the booths. We won't be coming back to Toycon tomorrow since it's Father's Day and we have a little gathering at home; but we will be back at next year's Toycon.
