Cosmetic surgery has been slowly but surely booming here in our country. A lot of women (even men) gets one for different reasons and they can surely justify why they need it. Personally, I do not have any issues with it; but as of now I have no future plans of getting under the knife anytime soon. Some, however, like Kate Winslet, even formed "The British Anti-Cosmetic Surgery League."
Winslet said: "I will never give in. It goes against my morals, the way that my parents brought me up and what I consider to be natural beauty."
Emma Thompson also agreed with Winslet's advocacy: "We're in this awful youth-driven thing now where everybody needs to look 30 at 60."
Again, personally, I have nothing againt people who has already done it. Some of them were able to justify why they had to do it; while I've seen some who look horrible because of it. I don't know if I'd reach the point wherein I'd want one; but it certainly isn't part of my life plan. It has its own positive and negative physical reactions. It is a risk someone has to take to achieve the look she wants.
So, before you go and decide, think it over. Do you really need it or is it just a want? Let me leave you now with the rendition of I Feel Pretty / Unpretty from the hit TV show, Glee. Hope this helps.

I've had some things done na but all non-invasive i.e., laser hair removal, chemical peel, lipocavitation.
ReplyDeleteThe procedures I've done, I feel like it's the same concept as cosmetic surgery in the sense that I had something changed.
I would have to say, I'm ok with in itself. But I draw the line on how much it will cost me and the risk I'm willing to take. Cosmetic surgery is both risky and costly. I'm guessing I won't go under the knife because of the risks involved.
If someone else does it, I won't be bothered. It's not my body and it's not my money :)
I will embrace what God gave me... bow!
ReplyDeleteI'll never go under the knife. Hanggang skin treatments lang ako and hair removal. :P
ReplyDeleteoh i just love kate winslet. she is ultimately inspiring
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted... a boob job. Even asked my dad for one on my 21st. But when my mom said she'd get one if I was getting one, I declined. And I'm glad I did. Not sure what I would have done if they had made a mistake and I ended up with lopsided boobs. :p
