Young Chefs' Boot Camp at CCA Podium

I love food. Well, eat them at least. I have always thought of learning how to cook but cooking doesn't seem to be in favor of me. Hahaha! Well, at least, I'm still trying. You know I've been making onigiri (well, it's just steamed rice) and bento meals for me and my sisters so maybe I'm just starting to learn now; but it's been a tough process. I mean, I don't even know how to make a perfect sunny side up! Hahaha! Actually, me and my two sisters Kim of Kimtabulous.blogspot.com and Czai of TheBlackSheeproject.blogspot.com don't know how to really cook. If only my parents believe that summer classes are worth it and that cooking classes for kids exist back then, I would have taken that and several other classes. You see, I'm a very active kid!


CCA (Center for Culinary Arts) has opened their Young Chefs' Bootcamp for kids age 7 to 10 years old for Young Upstarts and pre-teens to teens age 10 to 16 years old for Asian Flavors, Western Flavors and Baking and Pastry 101. Awesome, right? So let me tell you more what the programs are all about.


The Young Upstarts will teach your little kids the dishes they'd love to eat like grilled cheeseburger, fish 'n chips, chocolate chips, and many more. This will be a 5-Day Course with a specific theme each day - Lunchbox Goodies, The Wild Wild West, Sweet Tooth, Little Asia and Little Italy. 


Meanwhile, for your pre-teens to teens the Asian Flavors, Western Flavors and Baking and Patry 101 are 5-Day classes that are more specialized and offer an in-depth look and feel. Asian Flavors will feature various noodle dishes, soups, snacks and desserts; meanwhile the Western Flavors will the all time kids favorite like sandwiches, pastas and pizzas. And the Baking and Pastry 101 will teach the youngsters various takes on muffins, cookies, cakes and cupcakes.


"As CCA is known as the pioneer in culinary education in the country and has a well-developed curriculum, which is taught by trained and certified chefs. CCA guarantees a solid foundation for your children’s culinary education," said Marinela Trinidad, CEO of CCA.


The Young Chefs' Bootcamp offers only limited seats and all classes are from 1PM to 5PM. Courses are conducted at the CCA Culinary School and Market Cafe at the 5th Floor of the Podium along ADB Avenue in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. Hurry and reserve your kid's slot now 'cos registration is on a first come, first serve basis, okidoks? 


Opportunities like this make me wish to have been a child in this generation. Hahaha! I mean, I'm not old ah! I'm like only 22 years old but I feel like it's just fun to be a kid in this generation.
