PFT Support Group: The Start
Since I'm back from my exhausting event in Cebu it's about time that I start doing this. Well, what is THIS, you ask? Lose weight the right way! I've been wanting to lose weight because of health problems and loosing weight has long been in my new year's resolution wish; but never have I really started for it. There are many factors which pushed me to start and one of them is the PFT Support Group which I have found out from Rae of ScatterBrainAdventures.blogspot.com. PFT basically means Project Fit and Toned. Yup, it's a support group for those who wants to lose weight. So through this, we could all monitor our weight lost activity, if it's working and if we cheated, it will show via the result. So shame on me if I dare cheat.
Official weigh in: 194lbs.
Yes, I'm that heavy; but I don't think people can figure that out easily because I have a bigger boobs and I'm super active and super maharot at work. Plus, I can dance, do cartwheels and stuff. So you see, even if I'm that heavy, I can pretty much carry myself; but of course, my knees are kind of complaining; thus, I need to lose weight. I don't wanna be super thin, My target weight is 120lbs., at the least. That's 74 lbs. to shed.
Now, I'm not rushing myself; neither do I intend to slack off. What I need to keep in mind is to do everything in moderation and don't overdo things or I might face a bigger issue. Let's love our body and stay healthy. So here's my daily routine (I have made my own routine and diet based on what I feel like I can do):
1. Upon waking up, I need to do 10-20 crunches
2. After work, rest for awhile and attend the taebo/aerobics class at the gym
3. Go stationary biking for 15 minutes
4. Sunday is a no-workout day / restday
I might change my routine after a month or maybe after a week to see if it works or not; and if I have made progress, I will give myself a heavier and more challenging load. As per my diet, here's what I'd be having:
1. I'd be taking carbs in the morning, may it be rice or bread (but not too much, a cup of rice will do or 2 slices of bread)
2. Lunch will be wheat bread and tuna or whatever healthy stuff I can put in it and a glass of buko juice
3. Dinner will be bye-bye since I'm already full 'cause of the water intake I'd be doing while at the gym
4. No sweets / softdrinks /junk foods / pasta / fast food (fried chicken, burger and the likes)
Can I do it? I should! If I don't start now, when? Okay, again, this diet is self-made and based on what I think I can do. If you got any suggestions, do it in a nicer way and put it at the comments section below. I'm no fitness expert but I'm trying to stay healthy while losing weight. I'd do another weigh in by next week, same day. Let's see if there'd be progress. I'm also gonna be posting a picture of myself for the world to see.
So, let's do this guys! This is part of my new year's resolution; but see, I didn't do it exactly for the new year because I believe that change starts when you decided to, right? Till next post!

I can't even do cartwheels! Anyway, I'm sure you'll be able to lose weight the right way if you put your mind and heart into it.. :) Discipline lang din talaga. Actually, I need to shed off a few pounds too 'cause I'm not as active na after college, plus I eat out almost everyday! >.< *sigh*
ReplyDeleteThanks Sumi. Go na, let's make 2012 a year of change! :)
Deletebet ko itong outfit mo day! gusto ko talaga kapag simple lang at walang kaekek. smile mo palang pakak na!
ReplyDeleteThanks dear :)
DeleteYou look great! And about losing weight, you should also consider eating a lot of vegetables too and drink green tea to increase your metabolism rate. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! Will include that for next week's diet plan! Need to list down tea and veggies for grocery shopping this weekend :)
Delete:) I saw your post via Facebook. I am also doing things to become healthier and more physically fit. Your blog post inspired me to start writing down what I am doing so far.
ReplyDeleteBtw: My friends recommended to me this tip of eating more in the morning, make sure sure that I eat enough protein (must prevent muscle atrophy) and less carbs. We prepare sandwiches or salads for lunch. For dinner, sometimes I still eat out but pick the item with the least amount of processed food. If the dish comes with potatoes or rice, I still eat a little of that but I share it with others. (The guys love the carbs so it's ok. XD)
I will cheer for you. :)
Definitely doing that. I mean eat more in the morning. I'm thinking of a better lunch diet too ;)
Deletegoodluck sis! i hope you will be able to achieve what you want. ^__^
ReplyDeleteThanks! Sana may progress na next week kahit 2 pounds lang. Hehe :)
DeleteDon't forget to have a cheat day babe. It's a day you reward yourself for completing your weekly goals. Kahit bite size lang ng cravings mo. =) Para at the same time you still enjoy your favrite sweets~
ReplyDeleteNatatakot pa ako magcheat. After a month siguro? xP
DeleteAgree with Gen :) May cheat day ako so I don't feel deprived. Mahirap talaga kasi pag isipin yung cheat day. Think of it this way: You can have a little bit more of rice than usual. A chocolate bar. Pero wag lang super dami haha. XD Enough lang to satisfy your cravings. And enough lang na para when you eat out with friends, di ka freeling deprived. :)
DeleteThis is Clair btw :)
We have the same goal too and food diet plan. My doctor said that'll be a good start. Then you can go on further as you like in the next few weeks. Go go go we can do it!
ReplyDeleteYou can try Zumba at home :)

DeleteIt's an awesome goal to be achieved and so I wish you lots of luck and courage ;)

DeleteI support you all the way. :)
ReplyDeleteAlthough there have been new scientific studies proving that crunches don't actually work. :) Substitute it with 30 secs-1 minute planks. They burn more and better. :)
Strength training is the best. Makes you lose weight better and faster. :)
Thanks for the tip, Martha. Will do that nga! :))
DeleteI'm with you, Gel! Health is wealth! Genn is right.. have a cheat day.. with us! hehe! :)) Go go go!

DeleteIt's such a great idea to have a support group and to be with people who has the same goals. I used to be overweight too when i was younger and spent like summer vacations on aerobic classes all the time. But then i had a thyroid disorder which caused me to lose all the weight. Write more about your progress Gellie!

ReplyDeleteThanks Anna! :))
DeleteHi Gellie, Welcome to PFT support group! Motivation, Discipline and Hard work is the key! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with The Beauty Junkee, there are studies proving that crunches don't actually work, plus it strains the neck. Try leg raises or yes, plank instead. :)
Looking forward to reading more of your posts!

I'm pushing myself with the leg raises and planking during aero taebo class. Kalurkey lang. Hehe. But true, discipline and hard work is always the key. I know it'll be all worth it in the end :)
