#INTRAMUROSRISING: Time to Stand Up and Be Heard
It's time to stand up and bring back the pride of what was once and forever will be Intramuros.
ILVSTRADOS - A team of awesome young people with a passion for music and the arts bring you the very first #INTRAMUROSRISING, a planned quarterly music festival of homegrown indie bands in Manila standing up and uniting as one family to promote the local music industry and show the world the undiscovered and yet to be tapped talents of the men and women in the local Manila music scene.
"For years of being a self-proclaimed resident of the walled city, plus years of experience in doing gigs, nakikidayo kumbaga, ngayon ko lang napagtanto na walang eksena sa Intramuros. So that's what we plan to do! This is an attempt for Intramuros' local indie scene to make a stand and be heard," said Jeremy Lopez, the head honcho of ILVSTRADOS.
On August 2, 2014 at the Baluarte Plano Luneta de Sta. Isabel, 12 bands hailing from the different universities within Intramuros will be performing their original compositions for the night plus guest bands from the local OPM indie band scene, Brisom and Mr. Bones and the Boneyard Circus, and some poetry reading performances from Words Anonymous serving as breakers during the event. Totally not leaving any dull moment for the whole night!
Save the date and we shall see you there. One night, one dream, let us stand up and support the local music scene.
This uprising is made possible with the help of the Intramuros Administration and Viva Manila.
"It's not a matter of bringing back something dead. It's a matter of showing people that it didn't die in the first place."
ILVSTRADOS is a community organization consisting of independent artists who are students and graduates from the universities in Intramuros.
