The FaceShop Charcoal Phyto Powder in Cleansing Foam

While I was out with my boyfriend one fine Friday night, we passed by The FaceShop at SM North EDSA and then I asked him if we can take a look inside because I'm kind of looking for a new facial foam to try and I'm very much thankful that he said yes. We know how some men can be... They hate shopping; but not my boyfriend. He is more into looking at the nitty gritty of things before he purchases so he perfectly understands why I need to take my time here.

When I grabbed this product, it was love at first sight. Well... Love at first sight at what it promises to do to my skin. Here's what it says on the label:

"Deep-cleansing facial foam with the Black Formula containing charcoal thoroughly cleanses skin impurities, makeup residue and sebum inside pores with its maximum absorption and rich foam."

Now, who wouldn't want to try that?

The Good Bits:

It comes in a big easy to squeeze tube containing 170mL of goodness for only PhP200+ (forgot the exact price eh) so thumbs up for that. I use it to remove my makeup for the day, which includes a really good foundation (Maybelline Super Stay 24HR Makeup) and it did remove the makeup on my face! Take note that I didn't use any makeup remover prior to using this product so expect this one to be that awesome in cleaning your face. It says there, deep-cleanse and it really does the job well. I didn't have any breakouts, the scent did not bother me... What more can I ask for?

The Bad Bits:

It did what it promised to do so I really can't complain. If you'd be asking though if it would be okay for those who have sensitive skin, I think it depends. I have some friends who have experienced breakouts when using a charcoal-based beauty product, although not this particular one, so better be careful than sorry.  It also gives a word of caution to people who may experience signs of skin irritation to discontinue using it. So, I guess, this is not a product meant for all skin types. Sorry!

Over-All:

It did its job well for me so on a personal rating, I am giving it a 10/10. Repurchasing might be an option if I don't get the itch to try out something new. You know how we, beauty bloggers, are and the itch we get to try a different product and share it in our blog.

So, would you want to recommend a different cleansing product you would want me to try out for a review or have you tried this one out? Any thoughts?

  3. Wow! This is a good product. Most of the facial wash I have tried can only remove so much. I have to use a cleansing cream prior to washing with soap and water.

  5. My husband is pretty cool with my shopping habits, too. Nasanay na, kasi my mom-in-law used to take them along whenever she goes shopping. This looks like a great product. Currently, I'm using the Happy Essential Foam (Collagen) from Etude House. I'm addicted to anything with collagen these days. :D

  7. I am not really a huge fan of The Face Shop because these days, I only use my dermatologist gives me and they are very effective in preventing breakouts. But I might give this a try just because I miss using Korean beauty products. Thanks for the review! :)

  8. Looks like a really nice product :) As much as I wanted to try this out, my breakouts has been very very bad because of my hormonal imbalance. So usually, I'd stick with what my derma gives me, just so to avoid even more breakouts because of other issues. :)

I'd recommend this review to friends who are looking for something new :3
