Flawless AHA Soap

Skin care is something that I take seriously since I love putting makeup on my face. I often talk about it not just here in my blog but also in social media. So when I tweeted about a Brazilian wax before, Flawless took notice of it and randomly told me that they have something for me. It was so sweet how they randomly give people gifts in Twitter so I immediately DM’ed my details and told them that the nearest Flawless branch to me was SM Pampanga.

The gift I got from Flawless is their Flawless AHA Soap (well, hence this review). So according to its box, it contains alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) that helps renew the skin using a subtle peeling effect – improving its appearance and texture.

Is it safe to be used on the face? It is because it said so in the packaging and I’ve tried. Here are my thoughts.

The Good Bits:

Washing my face :D
True enough, the peeling is THAT subtle that I never experienced that after peeling dry skin you will usually get when you use products which promises peeling effects. It also wasn’t harsh on my face because there wasn’t any stinging sensation but it still left my face feeling beautiful and smooth and also kind of prevented mini breakouts. Although it kind of got me thinking if it is the soap or really just how I, generally, take care of my skin? Regardless, it might have helped because it’s still part of my daily regimen.

The Bad Bits:

I’m not really a fan of using bar soaps for my face but since this one is really produced to be okay whether you use it on your facial skin or the rest of your body, I gave it a shot. I’m also a very practical girl so I kind of like it if my facial wash/soap can also help in removing my makeup and this one doesn’t help in that department. I needed to use facial wipes prior to using this so that it can do its job on my skin and not on my foundation.

Over-All:

I guess I’m giving this soap a rating of 8/10. Did it do its job in making my skin look and feel better? Well it did combined with my normal skin care regimen. So I’m definitely giving this a thumbs up and not just because I got it for free randomly. It’s been quite a while since I’ve used a bar soap on my face so kudos to Flawless for not making me regret it.

BTW, there’s this Sunburn Alert at the back of the packaging that says: This product contains alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and cause sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear sun protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards. So just watch out if you’d be trying this one out. Don’t use it before heading to the beach this summer, k?

Will I repurchase? I’m still not quite sure about that since I really prefer a facial wash that will also help me remove my makeup. I’ve tried some which worked really well on that aspect like the Leyende Clean Slate Brightlifting Non-Foamy Face Cleanser and the Snoe It’s Oat-K! It’s Alright! Foaming Cleansing Oil. So I don’t think I will be replacing those babies anytime soon. But hey, it’s worth a try and my face loved it so give it a shot. Just take a look at my recent selfie photos, maybe it’ll help convince you.

  1. Gellie,

Love that you have that flawless skin. I've tried a soap from Flawless din before but I forgot what variant. It's a clear soap. I agree with you na mas okay makalinis ang facial wash. I'm into bar soaps for face before kaya lang I find facial wash mas madali gamitin and less effort na din.

    1. Same here. I like this product but I kinda still do prefer facial wash or cleansing creams. :)

  4. You definitely look glowing! And other soaps have warnings like that too such as SkinWhite and Belo. SPF lang katapat niya. :D

  5. I think you already have nice skin to begin with! I am also not fond of bar soaps because I find creamy facial soaps to have a more hygienic packaging. But I am looking for a new facial soap/wash because I think my current one is starting to get comfortable with my skin (it isn't as effective anymore because my skin is used to it already) so might give this a chance after my beach trip this summer. :)
