Fashion Inspiration for the Rainy Season

Aside from the Filipino bloggers I follow, I also read some blogs from people all over the world. And while all of them are blogging about summer, makeup looks for the summer, or fashion trends perfect for the summer, here I am browsing for inspiration about what to wear for the rainy season. Yep, it’s the rainy season now in the Philippines!

While I was re-organizing my closet last night, I noticed that I have more summer-ready office clothes and not much on what I can wear for the rainy season. Yikes! So I browsed stylewe.com to look for some rainy season inspiration and here are my top picks:

This coat gives off a “The Devil Wears Prada” feel. I kind of see myself wearing this while walking along the street, with my head held up high because I look gorgeous and I know it. I will be Andy Sachs after her fashion makeover. I always like being and looking busy and this is the perfect coat to tell the world about it.

This would probably me on a Friday night. Something cool and casual but can pass off as an after office party outfit. Paired with the right unique hand bag, this will definitely be perfect for my kind of Friday nights. Just a few beer with some good friends on a rainy night… Oh I can already imagine.

Make way for the Queen Bee! This cape is so Blair Waldorf. I was a Gossip Girl fan until I got busy and eventually grew out of it. But hey, Blair is still a fashion inspiration so this piece really caught my attention.

The rainy season should never stop you from dressing up and looking awesome. For my Filipino readers out there who still would like to be fashionable at work but kind of have doubts because commute is like crazy, I have a few tips for you:

1.       Wear sandals or flipflops going to work and leave a pair of heels in the office. With all the possible flooding, walking to the terminals, and waiting in line to get a ride, please take care of your feet and prioritize comfort over fashion. Just wear your pretty heels in the office.
2.       Friday night out? No worries. To make it easier for you, go for wedges. It still has the heels feels but more comfortable to walk with rather than stilettos.

3.       Avoid sheer dresses or tops. I once made that mistake and I ended up wet from the rain looking almost naked. Yikes!

Do you have other fashion tips for the rainy season to share as well? I would like to read them at the comments section below! Have a great week, everyone!

  8. Ooo the second one is so pretty and different! It's monsoon season here in Phoenix so keeping dry is definitely a priority! It's still about 85 degrees though, so you never really get cold. Hope you stay dry! ;p

  14. That turtleneck shift coat is amazing! I love Style We! I have the same closet as yours! Most - no, I mean, all of my clothes are actually for the summer. What I do during the rainy season is I pair my dresses with tights and wear rain boots then put on a light cardigan or a jacket and I am rainy season ready! :)

  17. Nice inspo. Here we are still in the middle of Summer and as soon as Summer is over I will come to the Phillipines and have another Summer ;) I am so much looking forward to the trip! We still do not know where we will spend the night before we go back home because it is so difficult to find hotels with either a king size bed (for all three of us) or two big beds (one for me and our daughter and one for my husband). But whereever we will stay, we can for sure meet Sunday in the afternoon :)
Thank you so much for your last comment!
