OOTD: Love Your Curves

OOTD: A Throwback and Something to be Thankful For

Gelleesh started out as a beauty blogging project in 2011 after slowly learning how to put makeup on as influenced by one of my good friends, Celine. Ever since, the blog has continuously grown and evolved into eventually also talking about fashion, food, and other things that tickles my fancy. I guess, in a way, this has become more of a personal blog talking about the things I love and my journey to becoming a better version of myself everyday.

Vintage Inspiration with a Modern Touch

If you follow me on social media, you might have already seen my post about recreating Twiggy’s makeup look for a 60s/70s themed party at work. It was actually sort of a last minute thing because so I really didn’t have much time to prepare. If we were given enough time, I would have really dressed up well for the occasion.

Fashion Inspiration for the Rainy Season

Aside from the Filipino bloggers I follow, I also read some blogs from people all over the world. And while all of them are blogging about summer, makeup looks for the summer, or fashion trends perfect for the summer, here I am browsing for inspiration about what to wear for the rainy season. Yep, it’s the rainy season now in the Philippines!

Forever 21 Style Insider and More Plussize Love

It was only recently that I started exploring and loving shopping in real life. For years, I’ve been so insecure to go to the plussize section or ask for the largest size because whether we admit it or not, our society kind of raised us to be ashamed of being fat. It’s like if you’re fat, you’re not supposed to deserve trendy clothing. You’ll just have to be satisfied with the limited options for your size.

OOTD: On My 5th Year as Gelleesh

I have been blogging even way before Gelleesh came out. Although I initially and usually just talk about teen angst and how the world was against me, it’s still a blog. And yep, those blogs still exist because I totally forgot my passwords to them. I will not give you a link but if you’re crazy enough, you can Google them and I’ll let you laugh about how emo I was before.

Visiting Hershoppe San Fernando, Pampanga

I have been staying and working in Pampanga for about two years now but funny how I still haven’t gotten used to going around and commuting here. I would usually get excited every Friday as I’d finally be able to go back to Manila to hang with friends and explore new places but why haven’t I’ve been that enthusiastic here in Pampanga? Then it dawned on me… I still didn’t have a community here.

OOTD: Dating as a Millennial

Let’s face it. No matter which era you belong to, dating will never be easy. There are those who call themselves the “experts,” but how do we really define being a dating expert to be like? Can you be an expert if you’ve found love easily? Can you be an expert if you have never been hurt? Can you be an expert if you can juggle more than one partner at a time? Can you be an expert if you can get laid anytime you want? Truth be told, no one can ever really be an expert because dating is and never will be a game you can practice until you perfect it. Dating is complex whether you’re a player or you’re in it for the real thing.

OOTD: Life Just Keeps Getting Better

As I was contemplating on how my life has been lately, true that it had its super ups and mega downs, but there are still so much to be thankful for. 2015 had been a great year for me to learn more about myself and about what I really wanted to do with my life. It made me stronger and pushed me to do better. At first I was kind of complaining. I wish “this” never happened, I wish things were different, blah, blah, blah… But these moments, the moments I kind of hated and didn’t wish to happen, are the moments that molded me into becoming a better version of myself as the year exits.

Imagining The Dress On That Special Day

I remember that when I was around 8 or 9 years old, I would use the remaining pages of my old notebooks to draw myself wearing my own designed wedding dress. I would spend hours and hours just dreaming and drawing about that special day and then, eventually, end up drawing my dream house after that, then designing what my kids would wear… You know the drift.

My 2015 Christmas Wishlist

Hello December!

I am not yet done with my Christmas shopping but I definitely have something for all my god children so, kids, I will see you on Christmas Day! But of course, it’s not just about giving and sharing what you have but also giving something for yourself… And so I’m creating this wish list. I’m not saying I NEED TO HAVE THESE by Christmas but what I mean is that I’m hoping to get one of these for myself on Christmas and this can also serve as a guide to all my friends and loved ones who might be thinking about what to give me. Teehee!

OOTD: When Shopping Was Such A Drag

I used to hate shopping and it’s just now that I have fully accepted and understood the real reason behind it. I used to say it’s tiring to go around and fitting clothes but in reality, I really love doing it. It was just that, before, I wasn’t confident enough to go inside a store, try out clothes, and then only to realize that even their biggest size wouldn’t fit me.

It was frustrating. It was embarrassing.

OOTD: Be Your Own Woman

I remember hearing one time at a washroom in a mall:

Older Sister: Siguraduhin mo na yung magiging boyfriend mo mabibigay lahat ng gusto mo katulad ng ginagawa ko sa'yo! (Make sure that your future boyfriend will be able to give you whatever you wants just like what I do for you!)

Younger Sister: Syempre naman! (Of course!)

OOTD: Happy Girls Are the Most Beautiful

To tell you quite frankly, I'm ten pounds away from meeting with my heaviest weight just like how I was a few years ago. However, this time, I don't feel insecure about it. As a matter of fact, I feel good about myself; but of course, I still need to lose a few pounds for health purposes and for a new goal.

Plussize Fashion at 10DollarMall.com

So while I was browsing on new shops to buy plussize clothes, I stumbled upon 10dollarmall.com. My initial reaction was: "Seryoso, $10.00 lang lahat?" (Seriously, they're all just $10.00?).

OOTD: Just Smile and Shrug It Off

I guess I was almost always starting my posts with: I have been busy lately or I'm so stressed these past few days. I mean, I should know because I almost started this with those lines up in my mind. You can't fully blame me though. I really have been focused on work lately plus with the new business I have just opened up, even my weekends are spelled as W-O-R-K.

OOTD: Well I'm Over It

"They tell us from the time we're young to hide the things that we don't like about ourselves."

I wasn't girly when I was younger. I don't think there is anything wrong with my interests but one of the reasons why I was just not interested in being girly is because I think I wasn't pretty enough to be a girl. I did love my video games before, inline skating, my sneakers, pants and shirts, but there's also this little girl inside of me who wants to wear dresses, put a lipstick on, learn how to fix my hair, but I was scared to not look good as a girl. And so I hid behind that boyish facade for quite some time.

When It's the Sister's Turn

Prom posts are all over my Facebook, Instagram, and other such social networking sites one can think of. And so, although, it isn't prom for my youngest sister yet I gave her some "love life" advice since she will have her prom in a year and might want to dance and fall in love with a boy from school. Oh you know what love is like in high school. Young love is so full of energy, enthusiasm, and drama; so with the things I have learned in my 25 years of existence in this world, I hope she can learn a thing or two from me.
