REVIEW: Ladouce Tampons

If you’ve been a long time lurker of my blog, you probably already know that I swore by menstrual cups. I was able to swim, travel without care, and move freely while using them. The only downside of using the cup is how in case of emergency menstruation cases, you can’t just whip it out and use it. Because before using my menstrual cup, I would need (and want) to sterilize it first. Let’s all be hygienic first and foremost before worrying about leaks, okay?

And let me also tell you a little secret. I actually went from pads to cups. I skipped the tampons. Most people I know who use cups have passed through the tampon phase. So when I received some Ladouce Tampons from my Happy Days Club box, I told myself, “It’s about time!

So when did I use it? Funny how I carried the 2 boxes of Ladouce Tampons with me anywhere I go in case of emergency. Although I’m not really expecting my period anytime soon (because of my PCOS), I told myself, “just in case.

And so it happened.

I was on travel for almost a month for work. During my last week, as I was about to wash up after a long day of field work…

DUNDUNDUNDUN!

I just had my period. I panicked as I was not emotionally prepared for it, but I remembered how I brought some pads and the Ladouce Tampons so I was saved!

The Good Bits:

Since it was my first time trying tampons, I didn’t know what to expect. I put on pads still for added protection since I’m not sleeping at home and I don’t want to mess up the sheets. When I woke up the next day, lo and behold, no leaks nor drops on my pad.

Aside from the no leaks experience, I also noticed how it’s way easier to put inside than the cup. Or it could be that I’m already used with the cup, so using a mini tampon is kind of just like a walk in a park for me. I also like the fact that it’s very travel-friendly. I can just slip a few in my bag and use it anytime in case of emergency.

So far, this is the cheapest tampon I’ve seen. One of the things that’s stopping me from using a tampon before was the price. So thank God to Ladouce Tampons!

The Bad Bits:

Well it cannot hold as much as the cup. Obviously. And just like the cup, it’s a bit tough to put it in if your period is super light that it’s not yet that wet inside.

Over-All:

I will be purchasing this again once I run out of stocks. I would love to try the other sizes though so that I can use them even when my period is heavy. It’s easy to put in, it’s inexpensive, and it’s also newbie friendly as it comes with a step by step instruction inside which also has a Filipino translation. Amazing, right?

I always encourage women to try out and learn more about their body. Don’t be afraid to try out tampons or menstrual cups. They were invented to help us move better and be more productive. You can run, you can surf, and you can do so much without being restricted by leaks and all. Doesn’t that sound awesome?

  2. First this subscription box looks awesome! And second, I love my cup (especially for travel!) but I HAVE to have emergency tampons in my bag because I never know when I'm getting my period and I do NOT want to be caught off guard. Having both available is amazing!
Thanks for being so open and honest, we've gotta talk about this stuff more often!

  4. I actually haven't seen menstrual cups (I know I know hehe) so thank you girl for this info. I haven't used tampons yet though I received a lot of samples, maybe my time will come when I get to use it.

  5. It's great that they work for you! I've never tried a cup before, but everyone talks about how great they are so I really should! It's nice you can carry these as a backup.

Hope that you had a great weekend! Was a quiet one here as we were all a bit unwell unfortunately. Feeling better today though! :)

  6. Another GO for the cup would be that it is much less waste and it does not contain any bleach :) Its mainly the bleach that I do not want to have inside my body that makes me go for a cup rather than a tampon. Or I use organic cotton pads for my lighter days :)
    Sending much love!
