2018 had
been crazy and eventful for me. Some of them were good, a few were okay, and
there were also those moments I wish I never did, but I made them happen
anyway. Regretted? Maybe a part of myself have, but I learned from them and I
want to think that maybe I became a better person? So I guess, it turned out
okay in the end.
One of the
things I kind of took for granted in 2018 was skincare. Yes, I started out as a
beauty blogger, but since I’ve been doing a lot of crazy, stupid, fun, and
shitty things last year, I guess skincare became the least priority. But after
the huge realization during the latter part of the year, I started going back
to the gym, eating better, and decided on taking care of my skin again. I
needed a new healthy habit and it all starts with taking care of myself – my
whole self.
Since I
stopped taking pills (which prevented any breakouts from popping out of my
skin), I need to take extra precautions with my skincare. One wrong move and
zits may start popping out. Plus, let’s admit it, I’m not getting any younger.
I’m about to hit the big 3-0 this year so more care and lovin’ for the skin I’m
wearin.’
My Morning Skin Care Routine:
After my
morning shower, I would use The Face
Shop Jeju Aloe Ice on my face and all over my body. I love the cooling
sensation it gives and I don’t need a too heavy moisturizing product especially
since I’d be doing my makeup afterwards. A little tip, for a more cooling
sensation, you can put this in your fridge.
After the
moisturizing part, I would then start my usual makeup routine and I’m done.
My Evening Skin Care Routine:
Okay, this
is the slightly complicated part. Once I’m done for the day, I would take a
shower first and then do my skin care routine afterwards. For cleansing, I use
the Pond’s Pure White Face Wash with
Activated Charcoal. Then, I will use a combination of two brands: Pyunkang
Yul and The Body Shop Tea Tree range.
Pyunkang Yul Products I Use: Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner |
Pyunkang Yul Oil | Pyunkang Yul Nutrition Cream
The Body Shop Tea Tree Products I Use: The Body Shop Tea
Tree Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner | The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil | The Body
Shop Tea Tree Night Lotion
If I’m
having a dry skin kind of day, I would use the Pyunkang Yul’s products. But if
I’m having a bad breakout, I would go with The Body Shop Tea Tree range.
However, if my skin feels in between (like if I have one zit or I feel like I’m
about to have one), I would use a combination of both. Here is a sample
combination I usually do:
After the cleansing wash on my face, I would use the Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner all over my face, neck, and nape. Then, I would proceed with using 3 drops of the Pyunkang Yul Oil and then wait for a few minutes until it sinks into my skin. While waiting, I would use the Coco Line Naturals Lotion all over my body because the face is not the only skin you need to take care of, you know. After that I use The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream on my under eye, and then The Body Shop Tea Tree Night Lotion as my final moisturizing product. Once a week, I would also use a random sheet mask before I sleep so I keep a few sheet masks in my stash too. They’re usually given by friends or free sheet masks from when I would buy some skin care products somewhere.
So there!
Now you all know my current skin care routine. But before we part ways, here
are a few tips I want to remind you about that also helped me a lot:
Always stay hydrated. Water is important for skin care
too. It helps in keeping the skin hydrated and looking moisturized all the
time. It also helps
in replenishing the skin tissue, hence increasing its elasticity.
Get enough sleep. I know that we’re all pretty busy with school
or work stuff, but beauty sleep is a fact. It’s not just about your puffy eyes,
but do you know the sleep deprivation
can cause a decrease in blood flow to the skin surrounding your face,
hence your face would look duller and paler. Plus, do you know that all the products you’ve
been using on your skin will have a higher chance of working better if you get
more sleep?
Go exercise more.
And it’s not just for health purposes! Aside from helping you de-stress, exercising
also helps in increasing blood flow, thus nourishing your skin
cells.
Eat healthier. You are what you eat. Stuff yourself with too much junk food, and you’ll
eventually see its effect not only on your health, but also on your skin.
Consume more fruits and veggies and try to avoid junk food, processed food,
canned food, etc. There isn’t any specific diet that can ultimately give you
the best skin, but over-all, if your body is healthy, your skin benefits a lot
from it too.

You look so young! I can't believe you're almost 30! The body shop tea tree series is amazing. Hydration is the most important, I wish I could have enough sleep but it's almost impossible.
