New beauty products I’ve been loving lately

It’s been awhile since I last posted something beauty-related. I’ve been semi-minimalist when it comes to the makeup and skin care products I’ve been using, because I eventually came to realize that you don’t really need so much products, unless you have real skin conditions and your doctor said so.

There was a time when I had a semi-complicated skin care routine; but once I started taking care of my health by eating better and moving well, my skin glowed like never before. That is why I came to believe that the best skincare routine is a healthier lifestyle. Anyway, enough of the preaching and let’s head on to what you came here to read about.

So, let me share with you my recent beauty product finds (some of them may not be new-new in terms of public release, but I’ve only tried them recently) that I believe might make it to my staples list:

For this look, I used the Gmeelan Black Truffle Cushion Foundation, the Maybelline Tattoo Brow Styling Gel and the Dazzle Me Get Grip Makeup Setting Spray in Dewy Fix from the post's list

First on the list is the Gmeelan Black Truffle Cushion Foundation. I was never a fan of cushion foundations. I just thought that they sound too good to be true. But this one kept popping on my Tiktok FYP and when I stumbled upon one of their live selling videos, I thought, why not give it a shot? But, I did a quick research first and saw some trusted beauty vloggers saying it worked well for them… So again, why not?

And let me tell you, this one didn’t disappoint! I got the shade light beige, which is a perfect match for my skin tone. It’s so easy to use, lasts long and definitely an all in one product. I use its cushion foundation and the setting powder that comes with it. Perfect for when I’m travelling, because no need for foundation bottles and for big powder and foundation brushes!

Next is the Dazzle Me Get Grip Makeup Setting Spray; I tried the two variants – the matte and dewy fix, and I have repurchased them both two times already. I use the matte fix for when I would mostly be outdoors and the dewy fix for mostly indoor activities or events. This is actually a staple in my makeup stash now replacing the Snoe Don’t Worry Bee Happy Makeup Setting Spray. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the Snoe setting spray, but it’s not really something that’s convenient to bring along when I travel so I’m sticking with these two Dazzle Me products.

Another recent find is the Maybelline Tattoo Brow Styling Gel. This one is an accidental discovery. I was repurchasing my favorite mascara online from Maybelline and thought, “why not try something from Maybelline that I need to restock as well to save on the delivery fee?” I needed a new brow product and they have this. Currently loving this one, as it gives me thick natural looking brows, but if you’re not too careful, you can get too much of the product on you and it’s going to be tough to remove – both its pro and con.

And last, but not the least, my new favorite perfume – the Zara Rose Gourmand. A friend gifted this to me last Christmas, and the first time I used it, I got so many compliments! It has sweet and floral notes with hints of vanilla. Aside from being the current perfect scent that complements me, it’s also very inexpensive. I actually already bought two bottles just so I won’t run out of it. Definitely repurchasing again, because it’s just so hard to find the perfect perfume at this price point.

I’m usually the girl who sticks to one product once I find the perfect one that works well on me. And they usually stay un my stash for a very long time. Not only that, but when I list something as a staple in my stash, it’s not only good; it will surely also be worth what you’re paying for and more.
