New beauty products I’ve been loving lately

It’s been awhile since I last posted something beauty-related. I’ve been semi-minimalist when it comes to the makeup and skin care products I’ve been using, because I eventually came to realize that you don’t really need so much products, unless you have real skin conditions and your doctor said so.

There was a time when I had a semi-complicated skin care routine; but once I started taking care of my health by eating better and moving well, my skin glowed like never before. That is why I came to believe that the best skincare routine is a healthier lifestyle. Anyway, enough of the preaching and let’s head on to what you came here to read about.

My 5 Beauty Product Staples

 As someone who used to mainly blog about beauty products, you still can’t remove the kikay in me no matter how much more focused I am with my training and workout. So, I’d like to share with you all my top five current beauty product staples, which I have been religiously buying for years now.

Every beauty blogger/vlogger has her own version of a “no makeup” makeup look. And to be honest, a lot of them are as (or even more) complicated than a fully made up makeup look. So for my own version, I kind of want to keep it simpler.

It’s been awhile since my last FOTD post. Again, I’ve been busy with a lot of things and I haven’t been putting much makeup on my face lately too. But this is different. I kind of miss getting myself dolled up and I think I shouldn’t deprive myself of that. Although this also means I need to wake up earlier. Meh. I guess passion beats the need for more sleep?

I love being different. It’s not that I want the attention but more of, I dislike looking like someone else. I value the feeling of being an individual a lot and, as much as I can, I try to deviate from the norms as long as I’d still be able to comply with what’s expected from me especially at work.

I have slowly been adjusting to living in a new environment. I got used to the simple and peaceful life in the province (after almost three years of staying in Pampanga) and then all of a sudden, BOOM! I’m back in Manila... And not just any place in Manila, I’m in Katipunan!

It was in college when I first watched an episode of Sex and the City and immediately got hooked. After that, I’ve dreamed of being a writer, living on my own, going on night outs with my friends… But those didn’t happen all at the same time and things weren’t as easy as how I thought it will be.

I have been pretty stressed and busy lately at work. It kind of feel like I need something new or a change in my routine. I have thought getting a haircut a week ago but I remember that I have been trying to grow my hair longer because I’d want to have it styled wavy or curly at the bottom… So short hair? Not today. And then it dawned on me that I have been doing the same makeup look at work over and over again. I need to start being creative with my makeup looks again! And now you might see more frequent FOTD posts from this blog (which can also mean more makeup purchases to be able to experiment more)!

I’ve been keeping my look really simple these past few months because I’ve been really busy and stressed with a lot of things; but still there are some people who have asked me about the makeup look I normally wear on my selfie photos. I guess it’s still worth blogging about eh?

Plans, reports, layouts… Handling the Marketing and Communication isn’t a walk in the park, I tell you. One must be, somehow, a visionary and can continuously innovate and fast to adapt to changes.

To tell you quite frankly, I'm not a big fan of summer. Well, I guess when I was still in school I would count down the days when summer would come just because I can stay up late, wake up late, and just play all day; but it's different when you're already working.

FOTD: Receiving That Good News

I forgot to set my alarm because I fell asleep while I was watching "The Skin I Live In." And when I woke up, I accidentally fell asleep again. Oh that post Christmas weather just makes you want to sleep for the whole day. So when I finally got up, I rushed to take a bath and I really feel like putting makeup on. I just don't want to skip makeup for today, and so I did. Just a quick swipe of this and that and I'm done. I guess that sufficed.

FOTD: Inspired and Living the Life

My life isn't perfect and at times I have thought of it as recklessly lived and crazy; but I guess my decisions in life (both the good and the not so good) have led me into living a life, I can call, my "almost dream life." Almost because nothing is perfect and, in a way, I can say that I am pretty happy with how things have been going. I am at the peak of my career, I am in a good relationship, I live on my own, and I still have time to spend with my friends and family.

I wasn't able to blog last week and my busy work schedule is to blame. But even though things are just getting busier and busier at work, I think I'd still love to share with you my makeup look for the day. I do wake up early for my makeup still because I wouldn't want to be busy and not look presentable at work. I remember how I wasn't able to wear makeup yesterday and it just kind of felt odd. I love putting effort on how I'd look at work because I love going to work and I would always want to be at my best everyday even if I just get to sit 8 hours a day doing graphics, writing, editing, and being stuck in meetings.

For about a year now, I have been using the L'Oreal Paris le teint True Match foundation because of how it perfectly matched my needs for a full coverage; however, because the year is about to end, I feel like I want to go try something new and what caught my attention is the Maybelline Super Stay 24HR Makeup in Natural Beige.

FOTD: My Dreams Will Be Heard

I have long been keeping it quiet but now it's time for me to speak out and be heard. I know that I have a lot to offer if only I would let people know that I am, indeed, capable of doing such things. I can handle bigger responsibilities but it won't materialize until I voice it out and start claiming it. Waiting is good but we also need to step out and take the initiative. I was scared, at first, but I need to realize that if I will hold on to what scares me, I won't be able to go anywhere. I need to take the risk take the first step.

FOTD: A Second Chance

I don't want to believe it at first but it seems like it's real. Second chances may happen but is it worth it? A love story that has once been closed... Can it still have a surprisingly good sequel? I'd have to say that there would be times when my reminiscing of the past turns into wishes of how I'd would prefer things to happen or to end up as; but fact remains... It's the past and there's nothing I can do to craft a change unless there would be, like right now, a second chance at what could have been and what might have been.

Decisions and choices – how do we make them? Is it based on what we feel is right or based on what we think can save our current position and state in life? Stepping into the unknown and doing the things you believe can be of bigger benefit to more people is something every man dreams of having the courage to do; and I am not an exception. But what was stopping me before? It is my fear of being lost, leaving the life I have so gotten used to and not being able to have a clear picture of what may happen tomorrow. That fear is what’s stopping me from actually doing what my heart desires and I was just following what would keep me from taking risks so I can prevent myself from stumbling down and getting hurt.
