Too Lazy or Busy to Work Out?

Hey guys! It has been raining real hard and you know what's best to do when it's raining. Well, yeah, aside from mating (LOL) it's really the perfect time to just sit back lazily at home, watch TV and then sleep. But then after the rainy season you'd complain about how big you got. Well, you know what you did and stop blaming the weather. I mean, seriously. This is kind of like a tip/rant post. I kind of don't approve of when people complain about being to busy or because it's raining that's why they can't find time to go and work out or they're too stressed out to go on a diet yet. Well, I'm not trying to point out anyone in particular but MYSELF. Yes, I was like that a few months ago before I started and decided to really workout.

It's really hard to lose weight esp if you're already plus-size like yours truly; and the secret doesn't really lie on some crazy shit diet or a couple of diet pills and slimming drinks. Yes, they may help you lose weight but beware of the side effects. The real and only healthy way to lose weight is to just be on a balanced diet and lift your ass off your couch and start working out.

"I'm too stressed na from work eh..."

"I don't have time. I'm really busy."

"Next week na lang, it's been raining really hard eh."

Those are some of the excuses I've come up with before and believe me it didn't help me lose weight at all. If you want to lose some weight, feel light and good and just be healthy, let me give you some tips on how you can be motivated to workout and how you can adjust your workout with your time. Oh, and I'm not a fitness expert; but this is coming from experience and I think that I do have the right to share it with you, now:

1. Pay your gym fee in advance - Don't go for a daily basis payment. It will just tolerate your laziness if ever you'd feel it the next day. Pay your gym fees for a month; that way, you would feel bad about losing a workout at the gym because you're wasting your precious money; and unless you're as rich as Pacquiao, you would definitely care about money. Hell, I bet even Pacman would feel guilty for wasting money like that.

2. Go to the Closest Gym at Home/Work - That way you won't have any reason not to go. The gym I go to is only a 5-minute walk away from home. Haha! I have zero excuses to miss going to the gym. Or if there are no good gyms near your place, why not find one near your work place. Normal office hours usually ends around 5 or 6PM and the gym usually closes around 9-10 PM. Still have no time?

3. Wake up an hour earlier or Stay up an hour later - If you're the busiest person in the world and the gym closes even before you get our of the office why not wake up an hour earlier or stay up an hour later so that you can, at least, do your workout at home. Whenever I'd be going home really late, I usually do push-ups and some of the floor exercises I've learned from the gym at home; and then, I use our stepper at home; which was bought by my dad. I also have a pair of dumbels at home. You know, if you're really dedicated, you'd really invest, somehow. Oh, and you can sacrifice an hour off of Facebook or Twitter to workout, seriously.

4. Go Walk - Another way you can work out without losing some of your ever precious time is do some walking. Don't make that: "Pagbaba ko, nasa work/bahay na ako eh" excuse. Go down from the jeep or from the bus a few blocks away from your home/work. That way, you would be able to do some walk and be able to meet those neighbors you never knew because you were always sitting in front of the computer at home and never bothered going out.

5. Don't Stagnate in Your Office Chair - Honestly! Get up. A few minutes of getting up, chatting with your work mates for 5 minutes, stretching and going to the pantry for water refill wouldn't hurt you. It can also help you with shaking off the stress out of your system for a few moments.

6. Use your Weekend or Day Off - I mean, you do have a weekend or a day off. Don't just use it by being a couch potato the whole day. Try jogging in the morning, doing some exercise, hey you can even visit the gym for this.

You know, there's always a way on how you can workout and get some exercise. All you need to have is the right motivation, dedication and discipline. Oh, and diet would also help. Cut off a few carbs and drink plenty of water. Don't skip meals. Yes, please don't skip meals. Eat frequent light and healthy meals. I'm currently addicted to my mum's tofu, actually. So, there. I hope my tips would help you all and if you have any questions about my fitness routine, just post it at the comments section below. I'm not yet super think, but I've lost 20 lbs in two months so I guess whatever I'm doing is working and I could, perhaps, share it with you all.

  1. What I've been doing recently is sign up for fun runs so I'm "pressured" to prepare and get out of the house. It's also a good way to gauge if I've improved my personal record time.

I work from home so I don't really have to get out of the house to get shit done, unless if I have bank payment errands and stuff which are super quick anyway. I have an exercise mat, a Swiss ball, and a pair of dummbells so even if I couldn't jog/run, I could do strength or core exercises at home.

I've only lost 2 lbs in a month at parang water weight lang yata yun hahaha! I'm eating more vegetables and fruits now, too. It's really hard to lose weight but I have to take care of my body and health. So even when it's very challenging at nakakatamad, I have to do it.

You've already lost so much! Inggit ako, lol!

  2. I agree with you in the stuff you posted. I actually walk about 10 mins from the MRT to my office (in heels) and 20 mins from the bus stop to my home (still in heels) before I usually ran out of breath but now its quite easy for me to do it every day. I also do zumba at home if I have the time or if I get tired with zumba I just dance my ass off LOL great post Gel! :) I also have some gym equipment at home like a stationary bicycle and a stepper but I like moving more than just using a machine :)

    1. Minsan talaga you'd feel lazy, but what matters most is that we admitted that we're at fault and we start again. It's never too late to go and workout again :)
