Tattoo FAQ Post

I am no expert when it comes to tattoos and all of that; but ever since I had my first one, I've been dying to get my second. And of course, people have been asking me all sorts of things about my ink. I've told you in my last post about it that I'd be making a separate blog post about it and here it is. I hope you didn't get tired of waiting since I don't want to make two tattoo post consecutively. Hahaha! Let's get started shall we?

1. Why Get Inked?

I've been wanting to get inked ever since and it's part of my bucket list. I know, I know, it doesn't answer much the question but the truth is, I really don't know why I'very drawn into getting one. Well, by analyzing it just now I guess it feels so kick ass or something back then; but as time goes by and I've gotten to know people who have gotten a tattoo, I've realized that it's far more serious than that(or at least that's what I think). I want to have a tattoo, which will show the world who I am and what I want to be. So the hard part of this would be getting the perfect tattoo, which I won't regret for the rest of my life.

2. Why At that Part?

Personally, I find it attractive for a girl to have her first tattoo on her wrist and I was told it doesn't hurt that much in that part. At first, of course, I was like: "isn't it like slashing my wrist or whaaaat?" But that was a stupid reaction, which apparently got a few giggles from people whom I've asked about it. I don't want to have a tattoo on my arm because I thought that was too masculine (in my opinion), I want to have one on my nape but I don't have a good image to put up there too since I'd prefer a nice original image tattooed on my nape. Hence, I decided, it was wrist, then. Wait, did that really answer the question?

3. My Sun Sets to Rise Again. What does it mean?

My tattoo artist also asked me about that although I thought it was quite obvious. I just told her, "it's an optimistic quote of some sort..." Chrystal, one of the people who have commented in my previous tattoo post said, "I think yours is cool, like a war cry that will keep you going when things are not smooth sailing." And I thought that was, honestly, the most perfect way one could ever describe it. It also describes my life back then and how proud I am because I have overcome a lot. People may find me like a happy-go-lucky kind of person; but honestly, I had it super rough back then and believe me, if I tell you the details, you could probably make a good novel out of it. But things are okay now and I'm glad I didn't give up back then.

4. In a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) how painful was it? - Hazel of Dressmeupbuttercup.tumblr.com

Hmm... There was pain but very tolerable. I guess I'd say 3. Honest! Or maybe my pain tolerance is just really high; but I know a lot of people who think of the same so I guess 3 is a fair choice.

5. How much did it cost you to have a tat that small? And what tattoo parlor did you go too? - Anonymous

It costs P1,000 and it was from a tattoo shop in Monumento's Victory Mall. One of my best buddies at work knows the tattoo artist, personally, so I've got full trust.

Would I encourage you to have a tattoo? I don't think it's something you can and should encourage people to do. A tattoo is something personal and it's not something you can just decide in a snap. It would be with you forever. I am planning on getting my second tattoo by January, I guess I'm that hooked. There's this line from a song, which I had been planning on  being inked but I'm thinking of having it on my back because it's quite a long line. I don't want to go sharing it now, because I'm thinking of getting an image as my next ink too so I'm still not quite sure, which one to do.

So, anyway, we've got that settled and your questions answered! Well, let me ask you something... If you're getting inked, what and which part would you like to have it? Share your thoughts at the comments section below. Additional questions will also be answered but only through comments this time 'cos I'm done with the FAQ post. Till next post! ;)

  2. I would have the word 'virtus' (strength) tattooed in the upper side of my body where it will always be covered by my bra strap. :)

  3. Whenever I pass by that tattoo shop in Victory Mall, getting a tat suddenly pops in my mind. I've thought about getting one back when I was still in high school, but I realized it's something which needs to be really pondered about. Lalo na for me 'cause I tend to change my mind quite frequently >.<

Anyway, I love your tattoo Gellie! It's very motivating and something fit to live by forever :)

    1. Thanks Sumi! Like what I've said, getting a tattoo is not something I could encourage people to do since it's a lifetime commitment. Parang kasal lang. Haha! xD

  5. I love the quote! It's a really great way to look on life's struggles and successes. I like tattoo art but I don't really see myself as getting one. :P

  6. Gosh girl! You're one courageous lady! There was this one-week thing I had before my birthday where I was itching to have a tattoo. A one-liner quote on my arm was what I fancied the most. But then it went away. LOL. Nice blog you got here. I followed you, BTW.
