Shoes – they can make or break an outfit. Either that or
they can make or break your feet. Haha! Agree?
I went shoe shopping yesterday (Thursday) because I need a
new comfy pair for the Global Leadership Summit. I need to look decent and all
that I have are my cute flats (which won’t look presentable when you’re in a
Leadership Summit) and my pumps (which are totally uncomfortable now since my
knees are starting to hurt again if I go wear high heeled shoes). So, I decided
to buy a new pair, which would be decent enough for the Summit and yet
comfortable enough for me to wear the whole day.
I’ve decided to go for wedges. I don’t really want to wear
flats since I still want to look tall (LOL) so, I opted to buy a pair of wedges
and I was hoping to see a good pair in SM Valenzuela, even though the mall’s
really small and there aren’t that much shoe stores there. I still tried my
luck.
Then, I saw this shoe store named: Shoe Gallery and from
afar, it looks like they don’t have that much shoes to offer, but hey, I still
got to try ‘cos I really need a new pair. So, I went in the shop and checked
out their shoes. They’ve got lots of flats, that’s for sure, and then I saw a
shelf filled with wedges, although they're peep toe ones. I’m not really a fan of
peep toe shoes because they tend to hurt my feet but I decided to give this one
a try. I asked for the biggest size, because that’s what often fit me (Size 9,
to be exact) but to my surprise, the size 9 doesn’t fit me! It’s kind of loose.
So, I asked for a size 8, which is a perfect fit on me. Then, when I looked at
the price, it’s on sale for only P500.00. What a deal! So, I told the sales
attendant I’ll buy it and went home with a smile on my face.
Road Test
I wore my Shoe Gallery wedges at the Global Leadership
Summit 2012 and I’m not regretting this purchase! It didn’t give me those ugly paltos at the back of my feet and it
feels comfy inside. The peep toe part didn’t hurt me and I can so totally walk
a mile (figuratively, of course) with this pair of wedges. However, when I
tried wearing foot socks in it, it kind of got loose but without socks, they’re
a perfect comfortable fit. What am I now, a size 7? The wedges made me look
taller and with longer legs. It also gave me the confidence to walk so sexy.
Hahaha! One of the ushers in the Summit even told me, “Ang sexy niyo naman ma’am.” And I just said, thank you. Uuuuy, pa-humble! LOL.
I just love how a good pair of shoes can give you so much
confidence, eh? Outfit does matter. I wasn’t, and I believe I still am not,
very fashionista. But because of blogging about my slow fashion upgrade, I’m
starting to understand how accessories can make you feel like you’re worth so
much and how a good pair of shoes can boost your confidence. It’s just a
wonderful and amazing realization. And I want to thank all my blog readers who
have been patiently supporting and helping me out with the clothes I wear and
bearing with me through my awkward fashion pieces and outfit posts.
Honestly, I don’t want to just show-off my stuff by
blogging. I can see that through blogging, I’ve really learned a lot from
fellow bloggers, my blog readers and my critics. Blogging about fashion is not
easy especially when you’re gonna face millions and billions of netizens who
might not share the same fashion sense as you have. But understanding why
fashion is a passion for some people is a different level. And I’m glad that I’m
slowly getting hooked and proud that you’re all part of that process.
Till next post! :)
Wow! You've lost so much weight Ms.Gellie!! I am soooo inspired by you! I've been trying to have a diet lately. .hehe
ReplyDeleteI love wedge shoes since they are very comfortable than those pointed heels. But the problem is, I always get those Paltos and it really looks ugly since it becomes dark >.<
Take dieting one step at a time. Learn from mistake noon when I tried na madaliin. I eventually, got sick.
DeleteTry using socks na may cushion at the back to help you with those paltos. I've had 'em back in college and it's not a pretty sight. xD
What a steal!! Love your new pair, girl!! ♥ Looking beautiful!
