I remember my first self-bought lipstick, which is a
beautiful shade of pink. After that purchase, I’ve figured that pink lippies
would be my lip color forever but I stand corrected. I loved nudes and reds and
I came up with the realization that any color can look good on me long as I get
the perfect shade fit for my skin tone. I haven’t always been into makeup and
started getting hooked only when I graduated college so finding the right shade
of lipstick for me was an adventure I enjoyed and although I know what shades
will already look decent on me, it’s still quite tempting to buy the shades
just so you can go give ‘em a try.
Then, I went back to buying pink lipsticks again and this
time, I tried the Wet N Wild Megalast Lipstick in Smokin’ Hot Pink or 905D
shade. It is said to be a longwearing lip color, which will leave a semi-matte,
crème finish in one stroke. Oh and it’s made with hydrating skin-care
ingredients: Hyaluronic Microspheres provide extraordinary adhesion to lips, an
exclusive polymer complex offers cushion-like feel and texture, and natural
marine plant extracts Coenzyme Q10 and Vitamins A & E help smooth lips.
The Good Bits:
Looking at the packaging it looks classy and sophisticated.
I love how it glides smoothly on my lips and lasts for a few hours until I eat.
It doesn’t bleed and it’s so easy to apply all over my lips. I’m glad that I
got a shade, which looks good, girly and subtle on me. Oh, and is it just me or
is there a light sweet fruity scent in it? I love semi-matte finish it gives my
lips and although it doesn’t dry up my lips (probably because of its hydrating
ingredients), I still prefer using it on top of my lip balm.
The Bad Bits:
Yes, the packaging looks classy and sophisticated but upon
picking it up, it feels kind of cheap and fragile. What’s up with cheap-looking
lipstick casing from Wet N Wild? And although I love the shade and its effect
on my lips, I don’t like the fact that it’s almost as creamy as the NYX Round
Lipstick that I feel like it will melt easily. It has already left a smudge on
top of its case.
Over-All:
I love the result on my lips but I don’t like how it’s kind
of poorly made. I’m giving this a rating of 7/10. There’s a lot to improve with regard to the presentation of
the product but the result on my lips are awesome. You might want to give this
one a try if you don’t mind a cheap-feeling packaging.

ReplyDeleteWhen you mentioned the words - "my first self-bought lipstick" -- I thought long and hard what lipstick that was and I still have no clue, lol.
