FOTD: The Blur of the Stars

One thing I love about putting makeup on is the fact that you can physically look like and be like anyone or anything you want to be. With the right skills, you can transform into a surreal character or you can just re-create your whole look. That is why I consider makeup to be an art and I love creating various looks and playing with the colors in my palette. When I did this makeup look, I was actually inspired by Barbie.

What comes in my mind when you say creating a Barbie makeup look, I initially think of blues and pinks and a flawless skin. So, that’s what I’m aiming for to do and show to you all. Let’s proceed now, shall we?

PRODUCTS USED:

FACE:  SanSan Foundation Cream | Shiseido Bronzer in Dark Fonce | Careline Pimple Concealer with Tea Tree Oil in Oriental | Snoe Fresh Custard Body and Face Powder in Nectarine Ginger Tea

EYES: SanSan Kohl Eyeliner in Brown | Ever Bilena Advance HD Colorless Mascara | My Face Cosmetics Blingtone Eyeshadow in Pink Champagne | Madina Milano Absolute Eyeshadow in 070 Shade (a blue shade) | Virginia Olsen Mineral Eye Shadow in Copper Low Luster | Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Waterproof in Brownish Black | SanSan Kohl Eyeliner in Black

LIPS: Lip Ice Lip Balm in Orange Mandarin | SanSan Creamy Matte Lipstick in Nude Brown | Wet N Wild Megalast Lipstick in Smokin’ Hot Pink

HOW I DID IT:

After moisturizing my face, I applied the Sansan Foundation Cream all over it using the sponge included in the said cream foundation to evenly distribute the product all over my face till all my blemishes are covered and I look flawlessly fake. I know it doesn’t sound good but if you’re using Barbie as your peg, better be flawless. Afterwards, I used the Snoe Fresh Custard Body and Face Powder in Nectarine Ginger Tea to set the cream foundation on my face.

Now for my eyes, I used the SanSan Kohl Eyeliner in Brown to fill in my brows and then tamed it with the Ever Bilena Advance HD Colorless Mascara. I still love thick and bold brows. Then, I used the My Face cosmetics Blingtone Eyeshadow in Pink Champagne all over my lids. It’s actually my first time to use this eyeshadow so I didn’t know that it’ll be that glittery but it turns out quite good, honestly; but it turned out to be a good glittery base, IMHO. Then afterwards, I used the Madina Milano Absolute Eyeshadow in 070 Shade, which is some sort of a shade of blue on my inner lids and then the Virginia Olsen Mineral Eye Shadow in Copper Low Luster on my outer lids and crease. I blended them well to avoid the harsh smashing of colors and then used the Face cosmetics Blingtone Eyeshadow in Pink Champagne again for my brow bone for a more glittery and glamorous effect. After that, I used the SanSan Kohl Eyeliner in Black for my waterline and the Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Waterproof in Brownish Black for my lashes after curling them using my Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler.

Then for the contouring, I used a slanted blush brush from my Props Brush Set to put the Shiseido Bronzer in Dark Fonce on the line of my cheek bone and swept it up in a sort of crescent shape towards my ear. Then, using a blending brush from the same brush kit, I used the Shiseido Bronzer in Dark Fonce again to line the side of my nose and blended it well. Now to make the thinning effect on my nose more noticeable, I used the Pimple Concealer with Tea Tree Oil in Oriental on my nose bridge for highlighting purposes. To set the whole look and to avoid the harsh contouring as well, I topped the whole look with the Snoe Fresh Custard Body and Face Powder in Nectarine Ginger Tea.

For my lips, I used the Lip Ice Lip Balm in Orange Mandarin and then topped it with the SanSan Creamy Matte Lipstick in Nude Brown and blended it with the Wet N Wild Megalast Lipstick in Smokin’ Hot Pink to maintain the natural pinkish lip color which Barbie usually has. I didn’t want the too pink lips actually because it would be a bit much considering my eyeshadow’s a bit heavy in that department.

With Jes and Bianca :)
I created this look for fun and wore it when I met up with my blogger friends Jes (JesRoque.blogspot.com) and Bianca (KaterinaBianca.blogspot.com) at Power Plant Mall for dinner and to watch It Takes a Man and a Woman. Hahaha! “I miss you girls agad! Let’s go out again soon!

Barbie is a fictional and character and it is actually fun to make all various looks to interpret how you perceive her. She may look perfect but keep in mind that we all have flaws because we are real; because we are living, breathing and eating. Our flaws make us unique and we should all embrace it because it’s what makes us strive harder and unique. So, guys, don’t envy Barbie, she isn’t real but you are... She actually envies you. ;)

I stare at my reflection in the mirror. Why am I doing this to myself? Losing my mind on a tiny error, I nearly left the real me on the shelf. Don’t lose it all in the blur of the stars. Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing. It’s okay not to be okay...” Who You Are, Jessie J

    1. Dati I don't curl my lashes na and I used to complain on how pathetic-looking they are no matter what I do with them. Who could have thought that an eyelash curler could help so much pala talaga. You were even one of those people who convinced me that it's worth it ah! :D

      See you again soon, Aya!

  7. I'm not liking your strong eyebrows lately. I prefer your old brows or maybe you can ombre it. Awesome blending with the eyeshadow though. I like your love for color.

    2. Awww. You're such an open-minded person. For a moment there I thought I might have sounded rude since words don't often come off the way we intend to when it's written.

Anyway, baka it's the reddish tone of the pencil clashing against your black and dense eyebrow hairs. Consider grey, taupe, or brown-grey. I have a slightly used wet n wild taupe pencil. I'm not using it so much coz I prefer etude house drawing in dark grey. If you're not too iffy with used eyebrow pencils I can mail it to you. Though I might have to charge 50 for shipping. E-mail me if you're interested.
