Where to Eat (San Fernando, Pampanga): Choco-Late de Batirol

One Tuesday evening, I find myself wondering, "where should I go for dinner?

I have been pretty stressed at work lately that I'd want to just go out, not worry about the chores at home, and just eat good food. So I tried asking Google where I can have good food around San Fernando, Pampanga... It is Pampanga after all and there is this regional character pasted on every Kapampangan - they're supposed to be good cooks! So, good local restaurants should not be hard to find. But, lo and behold, there's not much restaurants featured around San Fernando, Pampanga. Don't get me wrong... There may be the usual "Everybody's Cafe" (which I have to try soon) posts but to someone who commutes and is pretty new to the place, It is not really THAT accessible. Hence, to help out those who are in the same position as I am in San Fernando, I have decided to do a weekly post about places I'd be checking out to eat at in San Fernando.

For this post, I decided to try out Choco-Late de Batirol at North Walk II in San Fernando, Pampanga. It's not, originally, from Pampanga as it has originated from Baguio (as far as I know); but nevertheless, they have a branch in San Fernando so might as well give it a try.
Once you enter the place, you won't feel like you're in the city, honestly! The setting inside is very rural-ish with the wooden chairs and tables and the ornaments around... It feels like I'm in a secret garden having my dinner. It relaxes my senses and makes me want to just sit there, have a chocolate drink (even though I'm not a big fan of chocolates in general) and be with my girl friends.

The prices were pretty reasonable. The hot chocolates are around P90.00 to P105.00 while they also have the Cold Batirol (kind of like their frappucino) which costs P135.00. For their rice meals, the price range is P140.00-P195.00 while their good for 2-3 people dishes ranges from P180.00-P310.00. Pretty reasonable, no?

Talangka Rice Meal
7th Chicken with Salad
I ordered the Talangka Rice Meal (P140.00) and I loved it. It has mixed vegetables on the side that gives balance to the meal (because Talangka can be really oily) and they added fried banana as well for the dessert! Ros, on the other hand, ordered the 7th Chicken with Salad, which is marinated in 7 different spices and herbs. Ros loved the smell and the spices used to marinate the chicken gave of a very desirable flavor that she enjoyed.

After our meal, Ros ordered just the traditional blend of Choco-Late de Batirol while I opted for the Mint flavored. To tell you quite frankly, the chocolate drink was really good although I didn't really got the kick of that supposedly mint flavor in it. That's the only sad part.

Choco-Late de Batirol is a good place to just sit back, have a chocolate drink and catch up with your friends. The place just screams of it. So if you ever get to be around San Fernando, do try the Choco-Late de Batirol branch in North Walk II. Loved the place, loved the food, still not a fan of chocolates but I enjoyed the chocolate drink!
