Life Lately: On Changes and New Challenges

Hello everyone! So some of the bloggers I follow have this segment in their blog, “Life Lately,” where they talk about what’s new in their lives or, literally, what they’ve been up to lately. So this is me, slowly making this blog more ME, instead of just focusing on the usual beauty and fashion posts. I hope you’re cool with that.

Big announcement! I’m moving back to Pampanga

Back in 2015 at my first apartment :)
If you’ve been following my blog for quite some time now, you know that I used to stay in Pampanga. I moved to Pampanga in early 2014 and then moved to Quezon City.

I am not Kapampangan, but Pampanga will always have a special place in my heart. This is where I learned how to be independent. I was renting my own place so I had to budget money for my food, pay my own bills, clean the house, cook, and all those “adulting” stuff. My move to Pampanga helped me become a more responsible individual. And now, while waiting for the condo I bought in Quezon City to be ready for moving in, I am temporarily moving back to Pampanga. I am excited, actually. I feel like Metro Manila is becoming too toxic for me, in a way. So going back to Pampanga can be a good change. Pampanga isn’t too rural, but it’s not as loud and as polluted as Metro Manila yet.

Starting my journey to being healthy (again)

So much to do. Rendering a video on the left, editing graphics on the right. xD
One of the things I’m very vocal about is BODY LOVE. My definition of body love is loving and accepting your body and staying healthy. Lately, because of stress, I’ve made some bad lifestyle choices and I suffered the consequences. My PCOS came back, my bleeding was crazy AF, and I had to undergo a Biopsy. When my Biopsy result came in, they found polyps but thank God, they were small enough to be easily removed. Now I’m on medication and my doctor has advised me to try living a healthier lifestyle.

My unhealthy state has caused me to not just be unhealthy physically, but also mentally. I haven’t been diagnosed as depressed, but I’ve been feeling really down lately that I would find myself crying randomly and wanting to just disappear. I wanted to stop feeling that way, but for some reason it doesn’t want to let me go. I’d have to admit that I’m still not fully okay. But I am thankful for my family and friends, who have been helping me get through one of the toughest times of my life.

I actually think my move back to Pampanga will help me a lot. I will no longer be stressed with the commute and I will have more time to cook my own meals, to meditate, and to rest.

I am proud with what we’ve accomplished so far as a company. We’re still a start-up and we’re not yet big, but  my partners are a bunch of strong-willed and hardworking individuals whom I just love working with. We don’t always agree on everything but what pushes us to move forward and try to make things work despite of our differences is our big ambitions and love for each other, not just as business partners and friends, but also as a family. We’re expanding on new products and meeting new suppliers along the way. We still have a long way to go but I know we’ll be okay. We’ll have our ups and downs, but that’s pretty normal in a business. The best thing to remember is we should NEVER give up on our dreams.

Life has been tough lately and there were major adjustments and changes. But the most important thing this has taught me is that I should always be prepared for the worst. If I was just dilly-dallying and delaying things in my life, I don’t think I can afford (financially, emotionally, and mentally) to move forward like this. I’ve also learned that I should always put my health first above all else. I’ve been letting myself be stressed and loaded with work lately because I feel like I’m growing that way. But now I see that it’s only making me unhealthy.

We only have one life. Let’s make the most out of this, k?

  1. Good luck on your pursue of being healthy! You seem so motivated now! And to be honest, I am planning my (first) wedding now and it has been really stressful. The only reason why we're not eloping is because it would offend our families. I think as long as you're happy together, then you're not missing out on a grand wedding! Saving the money for your future sounds very smart :)

  2. Dang lady! I had no idea you were going through so much :(. I know some people with PCOS and it can be really difficult. I didn't know that eating bad could affect that though. I am glad to hear about your move, because it sounds like it will solve so many of the issues you've been having. So happy for you! If you are feeling depressed, definitely speak to someone about it. Even if it's not serious/clinical. Sometimes it's just good to get your feelings out. Here's to hoping for a bright and happy next few months for you! :)

  3. Self-care and body love are so important but I think we often neglect them because we're so busy trying to do everything else. That's wonderful that you're actively focusing on that, and I hope things will get better for you soon! Also, that's amazing that you have your own company, so inspiring!

  6. We LOVE your decision to live a healthier life! Honestly, feeling healthy and strong make a positive impact on ALL parts of your life - mental and emotional health especially! And deciding to put thought and effort into that is huge. You GO girl! And we also agree with never giving up on those dreams. It might take longer than we want, but if we keep working, we WILL get there!

  8. You have so much going on in your life right now, wow! It sounds like this temporary move might be a wonderful way for you to step away from the craziness of life a bit. I'm so sorry to hear about your health issues. Having dealt with some myself this year, I can definitely attest to the fact that it can really start to impact you mentally and emotionally. I really hope everything starts to balance out a bit ASAP!

  9. Oh I hope your move brings you a bit less stress - although no doubt moving itself will be stressful! I'm glad that the biopsy came back with a good result and that you have a medication that will help, that's good news! So many exciting things going on for you :)

Hope you are having a good weekend :) Have you done any sale shopping? I made the most of some time off earlier this week and shopped at a few stores but I haven't bought anything in the sales yet.
