Hey everyone! How was your Sunday? I would just like to
share with you all the makeup look I wore for UMAP’s event yesterday (Saturday,
April 27, 2013). I want something fab and glam to wear for the event but not
too much as well. Wait, that’s a bit contradicting. Hahaha! But I think you do
get my point. Anyway, I have also been practicing on contouring and I know it’s
not yet perfect but I know I’ll get the hang of it soon. I just need to
continue practicing. At least you’d all see the development!

FOTD: The Blur of the Stars
One thing I love about putting makeup on is the fact that
you can physically look like and be like anyone or anything you want to be.
With the right skills, you can transform into a surreal character or you can
just re-create your whole look. That is why I consider makeup to be an art and
I love creating various looks and playing with the colors in my palette. When
I did this makeup look, I was actually inspired by Barbie.

FOTD: Playing a Different Role
I love standing out. I would sometimes go beyond the normal trends,
which could sometimes be a bit awkward, just so I can flaunt how different I
can and want to be. But there would be times when we just need to step down a
bit and let other people take the lime light. We need to be less selfish
sometimes and just give way.

Careline Pimple Concealer with Tea Tree Oil
Geez. I'm starting to get zits again 'cos I just had my period aaaaand because I have, again, slept a few times with my makeup on, unintentionally. I wanna give my most sincere apology to my face for the zits I have caused her. And so, since I've got the skin care products to help me with getting rid of those fugly zits, I need to find a way on how to conceal them for the mean time. So, when I saw the Careline Pimple Concealer with Tea Tree Oil at the Grocery, I just had to grab it and try it out.

I Love Careline Makeup Set 3
It's been quite awhile since I last bought a new makeup and it's because I've been saving up for a more important something, which you will be able to find out soon. But you all know that my quest is to always look for good and affordable makeup to recommend you guys and because of that, I went to Watsons earlier to see what they've got in store for my wallet's tight budget.

Phil-Cosmetics Expo Haul
This is my separate post for my haul during the 4th Phil-Cosmetics Expo. I have an allotted budget for this expo because I want to practice myself to spend not more than what I have allotted. I did not bring any extra money so that I won't be tempted to buy more. That is also the reason why I was very thorough with checking which item I should be buying. I do not want to make any mistakes. If I had to go back to a booth and back to the previous again to compare prices (even if they are in both ends of the area) I will and I really did.
Let's start of with my Ever Bilena / Careline haul. As I have said from my previous post, they had 50% discount off on all their products so here's the stuffs I bought:

Careline Face Powder - P50 |

Ever Bilena Color Pencil - P44 each |
![]() |
Ever Bilena Pro Lips with Shimmer - P63 each |

Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick - P73 |

Ever Bilena Cheek Blush - P75 |
Digital Traincase, one of the trusted online shops of the bloggers, was also there and as I already have access to US branded makeups like NYX and EOS, I did not buy much from them. What I did buy are the nail polishes because my US Beauty and Fashion Blogger friend, Fashiometics, cannot ship nail polishes because they're flammable. So here are the nail polishes I bought:

NYX Nail Polish - P150 each (Promo: Buy 2 get 1) |
For Kairyu Nails, I'm so glad that I got to talk with the talented owner, Kate Vergara, and she was able to teach me a few tips in doing nail art. Hope to see her again soon. Here are the stuffs I bought from her nail store:

2-Way Nail Art - P100 |
![]() |
Nail Decal - P50 |
![]() |
Thin brush - P100 |

Swatching Nails - P50 |
I passed by a booth selling Bobbi / Chic Nail Care stuffs and they also have this very inexpensive lip scrub which is made from natural ingredients. So, I bought it:

Go Natural Lip Sugar Scrub - P42 |
I also got a free Facial Pass from the Mary Kay Cosmetics Booth. Their beauty consultants are so nice and friendly. They won't force you in buying anything; unlike the booth beside them. (Ehem):
Here are the samples I got from the Cosmetics Expo:
I also bought some stuffs from Penshoppe for a Get Up access and a 2 stamps for the Fan Conference Card. I bought dad a shirt and I bought these two foot wears:

Penshoppe Flipflops - P279 |

Penshoppe Sandals - P499 |
I had a great time at the Phil-Cosmetics Expo. I was superbly overwhelmed with the stuffs I saw there. I hope to see more shops next year and do share at the comments section below if we bought some similar stuffs from the expo.
Till next post! ;)

Careline Eyeshadow and Blusher Palette
As I've blogged about the other day, I got free stuffs from Ever Bilena. One of the stuffs I got is the Careline Eyeshadow and Blusher Palette. This is just a mini-palette and it has a mirror in it, and mini eyeshadow applicator with dual sides: one is a sponge tip while the other is a brush tip.
Swatches:
I put corresponding number on the colors already so that you'd know how they look like; plus I would describe each color so if you find the pictures still unclear, just refer to my description.

B1: A red shimmery blush
B2: A pink matte blush; but if you'd look at the swatch on my arm, it may have a little bit of glitter. That is because I used the same applicator for the red shimmery blush so some of its glitters have transferred; but believe me, it's matte.
01: A shimmery light blue shade
02: A shimmery blue shade
03: A black matte shade
04: A red matte shade
05: A brown shimmery shade
06: A white shimmery shade
07: A beige matte shade
08: A brown matte shade
The Good Bits:
The pigment is good and the colors are the usual colors you would really use for an everyday look. It comes with an applicator so need not to worry about how you'd apply it if you don't have any brushes for application. It is very compact and you can absolutely fit it almost anywhere easily.
The Bad Bits:
Although it has an applicator, it's only for the eyes. The sponge tip feels like its kind of weak and the bristles of the brush part feels kind of hard on the skin. I have used the sponge tip but not the brush tip. Its scent is not strong but it has this kind of chalk-like scent if you'd really take time to smell it; but the scent is not noticeable if you won't try sniffing it like I did. LOL.
Over-All:
It is a good mini palette for those who are always on the go and need something to use for an everyday look. I would recommend it. It is light weight and very compact. Just slide it in your bag or pouch and you're good to go! I will be giving it a rating of 6/10.

FOTD: Very Pinay
I am so itching to try out my new Careline palette which I got from Ever Bilena. So basically, that is the reason why I came up with this look. I love how this look was able to enhance my skin tone. It gave me a really beautiful golden brown look; perfect for the theme since I am using a local makeup brand, why not make this look something which will enhance our beautiful brown complexion right?
PRODUCTS USED:
FACE
- Jane Agua Ceuticals Sheer Tinted Moisturizer (Medium Warm Tones)
- Wish Pressed Powder (Beige)
- Careline Palette (Red Blush)
EYES
- Wet N Wild Color Icon Brow and Eyeliner
- Careline Palette (Blue and Light Blue Shade)
- L’Oreal Voluminous Naturale Mascara
LIPS:
- Watsons Moisturizing Lip Balm (Sweet Strawberry)
- Urban Decay Pocket Rocket Gloss (Timothy)
HOW I DID IT?
Using an N33 Fluid Foundation brush from Marionnaud, I applied the Jane tinted moisturizer all over my face. I love this product because aside from the fact that it is SPF 30, it is also organic. It really does take care of your skin. To set the tinted moisturizer, I applied the Wish Pressed Powder using an ELF total face brush.
For the eyes, I first used my Wet N Wild Color Icon Brow and Eyeliner to line my brows and lengthen them. Then, I used my new Marionnaud N37 Slanted Eyeline & Eyebrows Double Side Brush to apply the blue shade from my Careline palette thinly on the lids and on my lower lash line. I used the slanted part of the brush, btw. Then, applied the lighter shade of blue all over my eyes using a technique where I start inside going outside so that the inside will only have a little of the products and more on the outside; thus making it more noticeable without overly doing it. After that, I curled my lashes and used the L’Oreal Voluminous Naturale Mascara. I remembered Michelle Phan’s tip in choosing the best mascara fit for your lashes. If your lashes are like mine, short and thin, use a volumizing mascara instead because it has a thicker formula. Thin lashes are usually too weak to hold up a wet mascara formula so if you have thin lashes and you used a mascara with wet formula, you’ll end up smudging it all over the eyes after awhile.
For the lips, I applied first the Watsons Moisturizing Lip Balm and then the Urban Decay Pocket Rocket gloss. I am not a fan of lip glosses and I am so upfront about that. I hate the sticky feeling and how my hair always sticks on my lips when it’s too windy; but to complete this look, I disregarded that. The Urban Decay Pocket Rocket in Timothy smells like caramel plus it gave my lips a natural pink glossy glow.
For the finishing touches, I used the red blush from my Careline palette and set the whole look with the Wish pressed powder.
I love how this whole look really enhances my beautiful Filipina skin tone. It gave my face a golden brown glow and I know it would look great on majority of us, Filipinas, who have the same skin tone as mine. So if you loved this look, do tell me and if you tried it, show me a picture please!
Till next blog post!
