FOTD: An 80s Makeup Look

My last blog post was about my OOTD (Outfit Of The Day) from last night's 80's themed party for the 25th anniversary of KMBI. Now, I am posting my FOTD (Face Of The Day) and a few instructions on how I did this 80's makeup look.

When I searched google as to how people from the 80's do their makeup, I found out that their makeup doesn't always need to be neat and clean. Their eyes are always colorful and I was glad that I will be able to practice my creativity here.

WHAT I USED:

EYES

- ELF Eyelid Primer
- Ever Bilena Eyebrow Pencil in Brown
- Rimmel Sexy Curves Full Volume and Curve Mascara
- Shawill False Eyelashes
- Props Tools and Cosmetics Ultimate Too Palette

FACE

- Aerie Color Hydrating Foundation in Almond

LIPS

- Ever Bilena Pro Lipstick with Shimmer in Auburn Bronze

HAIR

- Bench Fix Professional Clay Doh Molding Clay
- Fashion 21 Hair Spray

HOW I DID IT:

For the face, I used my Charm Pro Stippling Brush to apply the Aerie Color Hydrating Foundation in Almond all over my face. I love this liquid foundation because aside from being hydrating, it is also a matte foundation. Who could have ever thought that a matte foundation could be hydrating, right?

The colors I used encircled
For the eyes, I did my brows using the Ever Bilena Eyebrow Pencil in brown and then applied the ELF Eyelid Primer to prep my lids for the tremendous amount of colors I'm about to use. For the color on my eyes, applie firs a matte purple color on my lids then the matte blue color on my crease and creating a wing effect almost touching my brows. For my brow bone, I applied a matte pink color in the inner part and matte orange color on the outer part. I used the matte blue color again under my eyes as a liner, but not on the waterline, and connected it on the wing I made. After the colors, I curled my lashes, applied the Rimmel Sexy Curves Full Volume and Curve Mascara and attached the Shawill false lashes using an eyelash glue from Nichido. Remember that I did not blend the eye makeup so that the sharpness and vividness of the colors will be visible.

For my lips, I applied the Ever Bilena Pro Lipstick with Shimmer in Auburn Bronze all over my lips. I used to hate this lipstick color because it doesn't match my skin tone but for the 80's look it just looks perfect.

For my hair, I used the Bench Fix Professional Clay Doh Molding Clay all over my hair and then teased the back part leaving my bangs as it is. After teasing, I used the Fashion 21 Hair Spray to hold the teased part of my hair.

A lot of people says that the 80's era had the greatest music but the worst fashion and makeup look. True enough, the makeup look and fashion sense of that era is over-the-top but in my opinion, it's because people in that era are so much into releasing their creativity. What do you think? Tell me your thoughts at the comments section below! Till next post!
