My First Browhaus Experience

Hey everyone! How was your weekend? Mine had been pretty exhausting but I had an awesome one. One of the reasons why I loved my weekend is because of my first visit to the Browhaus. Just by telling you guys the word Browhaus I bet you already have an idea what it is, right? Get the root word, people! BROWS! Yep, there is a place here in the Philippines where you can have your brows pampered and prettified. Awesome, right?

"Inspired by Bauhaus, the German art movement, Browhaus is your one-stop brow and lash grooming salon, built for the image-conscious urbanite who demands not just function. but function and style. Expect the highest technical proficiency but with a stunning and fashionable end result. Browhaus is here for your facial hair grooming needs - the hair on your face never had a better close-up." - browhaus-manila.com

The rooms :)
I've heard about Browhaus before but never thought of going there because (1) The location is only in Serendra and Greenbelt 5, (2) I know a lot of spa/salons which offers less expensive threading services. Pretty reasonable, right? But when Browhaus invited the Blogger partners of HYD (Hot Young Designers) I said, why not give it a try.

It was quite an effort just to get to Greenbelt. You see, I'm from Valenzuela and I had to ride a jeep, a bus then the MRT. After that, it was quite a long walk from Ayala Station to the 4th floor of Greenbelt 5. When I got there, I was greeted by a wonderful ambiance and a smiling face. I filled up a form and waited for about 5 minutes at their super-comfy waiting lounge wherein you can grab a magazine or take a look at the pictures of their celebrity endorsers. Strip and Browhaus is actually of the same location. They're sister companies, if I'm not mistaken or something like that. I wasn't bored at all because there was a lot to look at so after waiting for a few minutes, Gladys, my assigned therapist, invited me inside one of the rooms.

The throne! :P

I was seated at a reclining chair and it was definitely comfortable. Gladys asked me a few questions about my brows like if it's my first time, where do I usually get 'em done and stuff like that while preparing her stuff for my brows. After applying powder on my brows, she warned me that it might hurt a bit. I was prepared. Threading is my preferred method of hair removal and I'm used to the pain. Although there would be times when a tear would still fall down my cheeks while having my brows or upper lip done, I am ready for the pain, baby!  But I was surprised because it wasn't as painful as my previous threading experiences. Gladys asked me if I can still tolerate the pain. I just nodded. She also asked me to pull in between my brows and warned me again that the lid part is a bit sensitive. This is the part when I was supposed to shed a tear or two because of the pain; but today, I didn't! There was pain but it's very tolerable. Gladys was able to do the procedure fast and in tune with my brows so the pain was very tolerable and wasn't as painful as my past threading experiences.

After the threading part, Gladys applied an after cream on my brows and she used the Pick 'N' Mix Perfect Brow Kit on my brows. Wait, forgot which one came first. Basta, that's what she did after the threading part. I asked for a few before I went out of the room 'cause I needed the time to comb my hair and re-apply my eye shadow.

Before
After
It was an awesome experience indeed. I keep on telling my mom to look at my brows because they're so gorgeous. During my previous threading experiences, I think they have made my brows a bit thinner; but this time, they looked very natural and it doesn't make me look old. Will I go back to Browhaus? At first I was hesitant because of the location; but come to think of it, it's all worth it.  Mas masarap na mag FOTD with my new brows!
