SanSan Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

I wasn’t a big fan of putting eyeliners. I’m often in a hurry and if I’d be putting eyeliners, it’ll be because I’m going on a night out or I’d be attending an event; but as much as possible I avoid them because (1) it sometimes do get messy when I apply it (2) it kind of makes the look a bit too much at some point and (3) I tend to take quite a few more time to put it on my eyes since I’m not really used to applying it on myself.

When HBC sent me the SanSan Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Black and Brown I didn’t open it immediately. Well, I was not planning on using it as soon as possible as I am not really a big fan of such products but, hey, I would still love to give it a try.

The Good Bits:

I love the fact that it is really inexpensive. It actually costs less than a hundred bucks. I have initially tried the NYX felt tip liner and I loved it at first but the last time I wore it on my eyes was when it got smudged by the sweat when I accompanied my sister to her school fair. Damn! So I was quite scared to try out this product as it may smudge since it’s very cheap and you know what they say, “you get what you pay for.” Well, to give justice to the NYX product, it didn’t really say waterproof but, hey, did I really sweat that much; because only one eye has smudged, honestly. Anyway back to the SanSan product, it never smudged on my eyes and it is, indeed, waterproof. I actually had my facial a few days back and of course, you’d expect them to clean your face first so I noticed how she’s having a hard time removing my eyeliner. Hahaha! Smudge-proof! And when I got home, it’s still there. High five SanSan! You totally made my facialist give up on removing you off of my eyes. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to blog my review of this product. It totally amazed me. Another thing I loved about this is the fact that it comes with a felt tip which I actually always prefer when it comes to eyeliner since I really am a bit clumsy when applying it on my eyes. It also dries quickly, on me at least, and it did last the whole day on my eyes.

The Bad Bits:

I don’t know if it’s just me but when you’ve had the cap open too long it has the tendency to dry up quick so make the application as fast as possible then close the cap immediately. But upon closing it and waiting for a few seconds while having it faced down (the tip at the bottom) it’ll go back to normal. Well, I think it’s pretty normal with this kind of product so, yeah, I just do my wings so slow that the felt tip dries up quick. Haha! For the black shade, it doesn’t come off as really black with the first line then you just have to re-apply it again to make it more opaque.

Over-All:

Black shade on a makeup look I created :)
Brown shade on a makeup look I created :)
I’m okay with this product and it’s the current one I’m sticking to as of the moment. I’m giving this a rating of 8/10. I wasn’t, initially, impressed with this but when I found out how waterproof it is and after using it over and over again, I’m slowly developing a good relationship with this eyeliner pens. It may not be the best one out there but it’s worth it.

  1. I'm liking mine too. Same thoughts, I need to work quickly because it dries kaagad. Bukas, sara, shake ng konti. But I was surprised too when it stayed put on my oily monolids throughout the day :)

  3. I don't like this. It always seems like I'm running out of product. It's the first eyeliner that I had to give away because I'm not using it at all. I made a review of this last year so they probably reformulated it. I'm a fan of sansan's other liquid eyeliner though.

    1. It's possible nga na they might have improved the formulation. I actually think it's worth a bit more than its current price as per performance. When I initially used it on my sister didnt become a fan kaagad but when I used it on myself na I was impressed. :)

  5. I like this eyeliner pen from San San. It doesn't smudge on my oily lids much and it's so easy to manipulate. I experienced the tip drying when I was applying at the car and I was infront of the air conditioner. Just shake it and you'll get the liquid liner down the tip again. :)

  6. I haven't tried any eyeliner because of the good relationship I have with K-Palette. With its inexpensive price, I think I should head out to HBC and get a pen to try! :)

  7. I've been hearing several good reviews about this eyeliner pen, so I'd definitely try this out soon. Just a quick question, was it easily erased with makeup remover? :) Thank you! xoxo
