“Let’s sing Merry
Christmas and a Happy Holiday. This season may we never forget the love we have
for Jesus. Let it be the one to guide us, as another New Year starts. And may
the spirit of Christmas be always in our hearts. ”
What is Christmas to us? A lot of us know about how the real
reason for the season is Jesus Christ; but do we really live up to the belief?
It is one thing to know and another to act it out and I guess, not a lot of us are
intentionally living up to how Christ would prefer us to celebrate His
birthday.
To some of us, Christmas is the time to relax, have a
vacation and just chill out somewhere nice. There’s Baguio, Tagaytay, the
beaches and a lot more; while there are some who are waiting for Christmas
because of the Christmas bonus and 13th month pay – go shopping, buy
new clothes, rush to the sales to buy our god children some gifts because that’s
how Christmas usually goes in our house hold. It’s also the time to STOP the
diet and legally be total gluttons and a lot more of those superficial and earthly
traditions. It’s, honestly, hard to get it out of our culture; but we can
always make a difference one step a time, in our own different ways.
This Christmas, I wasn’t really planning something grand but
what surprised me is that for the first time in months, I went to church. And,
although, some of you may have seen me rant on Facebook about how there are
tons of young people dressing up in their super short shorts and micro mini
skirt inside the church during the Misa de Gallo, I kept my focus on the mass itself and there was a
moment during the mass that I closed my eyes and really prayed to God in my own
way. It was the first time in months that I felt the connection with Christ
again and, although, I cannot promise a total transformation or attendance at
the church, I know that step by step, I am getting there.
For my makeup in attending the Misa de Gallo, I opted for a
subtle look with some splashes of Christmas color.

HOW I DID IT:
I used a pump of the L’Oreal
le teint True Match in Nude
Amber for my face serving as its foundation and half a pump to cover up my dark
eye circles and other places where blemishes can be visibly seen. Afterwards, I
set it with the LA Colors Loose Powder in Medium.
For my eyes, I used the Ever Bilena Color Pencil in Brown to
fill in my brows and then used the ELF Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara
to set and tame my brows. I, then, applied the SanSan CYO Eyeshadow in Yellow
Topaz all over my lids, the SanSan CYO Eyeshadow in Deep Earth Brown on my
crease area and outer lid area and the white shade in my Revlon Color Stay 16
Hour Eye Shadow in Inspired on my brow bone and to help soften some hard edges.
For my lashes, I used the Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Waterproof in
Brownish Black after curling them.
A quick swipe of the Nanny Rose’s Queen Bee Lip Balm in Four
Slices of Raspberry Cheesecake on my lips topped by the Skin Food Lip Gloss in
The Chocolate Makes You More Sweet & Deep. Yes, I’m falling in love with
nudes.
This Christmas has brought in a lot of realizations and has
made me a stronger person than I was before. I was already a tough cookie
before but now, I’m even more kickass and have promised myself to really trust less
this time. I was hurt by some things and, now, I’m even less ready to put
myself out there because of some things that has happened, which totally made
me put on that strong girl facade again. Anyway, enough of all these emotional
talk; enjoy the rest of the Holiday vacation and tell me what you think of this
makeup look at the comments section below.
