I used to dread
going to the beach or a pool when it’s summer. Everyone seem so fit and
beautiful and I used to feel so ugly around them. With their petite frame, cute
bikinis and whatnot, I thought a summer body should be all about that and
someone like me wasn’t fit to enjoy the beach the way they do. I would just
wear a pair of shorts and a shirt because I feel like someone like me should wear
only that or people would laugh and make fun of me.
But I said,
“No more.”
My confidence
to wear pretty and cute swimsuits didn’t start when I lost weight. It started a
few years back and I’m just glad to be continuing my campaign against the #BalikAlindogProgram because I don’t
believe in such. Just like how we bid goodbye to the sun when it’s setting, I’m
bidding goodbye to all the negative feelings I had toward my body. It doesn’t
deserve the hate. It doesn’t deserve to be hidden. It deserves to be flaunted
and appreciated.
This makeup
look is a tribute to those feelings and how my hate for my body has reached
its sunset, to be replaced by the beauty and appreciation that comes up during
sunrise. And I hope you will all feel the same about your body. No matter what
shape and size you’re in, you are beautiful. Just stay healthy and you’ll be
fine.

HOW I DID IT:
I started
off with using the Neat
3B FaceSaver Gel as my primer and then the L’Oreal Infallible Foundation in
Honey all over my face for coverage topped by the Snoe Poudre Extraordinaire in
Warm Honey. Then, I used the darkest brown shade in the BYS Brow Definition Kit
in Pow Brows to put fake freckles on my cheeks and nose bridge and then a
powder brush to slightly lighten and blend it better. And for the light drunk
blush look, I swiped the NARS Sarah Moon Blush in Impudique on my cheeks and
nose bridge.
For the eye
makeup, I used the Miniso Crystal Sword Tip Smooth Eyebrow Pencil in Dark
Coffee to draw on my brows and then the BYS Brow Tint in Caramel to help
lighten it up a bit since, hello blonde! For sunset-ish color of my lids, I
used the Beauty Glazed Saturn Palette I borrowed from my youngest sis. I started
with using #1 all over my lids, #8 on the outer corner going to the middle (while
blending immensely), and then #7 on the outermost corner, making sure it won’t
reach the middle and would just stay there for that faded effect. But make sure to still blend, blend, blend,
okay? Oh and I also used #7 for my lower lids. After the colors, I used the H&M
Precision Eye Marker for the subtle wings, and then the Skin Potions Webcara Eyelash
Enhancer for my lashes.
For the
lips, I just used the MAC Matte Lipstick in Velvet Teddy all over and then a
lip tint for the middle to inner part of my lips. Sorry, but the lip tint I
have doesn’t have a brand so I guess you can experiment on other lip tints
instead if you want to try the look.
I know I
haven’t been doing much makeup look lately because I’ve been focused too much
on my workout and such. But I am still into telling stories through my makeup
looks and my style. I hope you liked this one and you’ve been at least a little
bit encouraged by my message of owning and loving your body for what it is
while taking care of it.
Ain’t
nobody got time for body hate!
