Recognition Day Makeup Look

Hey y’all! It’s been ages ago since I last posted a makeup look and I’m really sorry for that. You see, my camera just met an early death and I won’t be able to blog much about makeup look since I’d have to borrow my mum’s camera for it. Need to save up for a better camera this time around! Any, umm, sponsors? LOL. Anyway, here’s a new makeup look, not mine, but my sister’s. I actually did her hair and makeup for her recognition day. Forgive the hair, I still need loads of practice on that part.

For this makeup look, I need to come up with something young, fresh but would still make my sister look pretty. Hence, I just needed a light eye makeup and pink on the lips to keep her youthful glow and beauty. So take down notes now on what products I have used for her recognition day makeup look:

FACE:

- Beauty Treats Liquid Foundation (Beige)
- Nichido Final Powder (So Natural)
- Ever Bilena Cheek Blush (Cheek)

EYES:

- ELF Eyelid Primer
- Props Ultimate Palette
- Maybelline Long Extreme Stiletto

LIPS:

- Snoe Beso Balm
- NYX Round Lipstick (Louisiana)

HOW I DID IT?

First, I pumped some of the Beauty Treats Liquid Foundation at the back of my hand and used to the Charm Pro Stippling Brush to stipple and then blend the foundation all over Christine’s face. After blending evenly, I used the Nichido Final Powder to set the foundation. This is important so that when you’re applying the eye makeup, for example, your finger won’t leave a mark when you press it on the face.

For the eyes, I first primed her eye lids using the ELF Eyelid primer. I blended it on her lids with my ring finger. After that, I used my Charm Pro eye shadow brush to apply a brown shade from the Props Ultimate Palette onto her lids. I blended it with a blending brush, still from my Charm Pro Brush Set. Afterwards, I used a darker shade of brown for her outer v. Blend, blend, blend well. That is the key. But as you can see, my sister doesn’t have a noticeable crease area so to make her eyes pop out and stand out, I created a sharp edge on her eyes and used the darker brown shade I used on her outer v. After blending a bit, I used a golden shimmery shade from the palette and dabbed some on her lids to give her that bright glowing eyes. She deserves to sparkle. Then some white shade for her brow bone for the finishing touch. After that, I used the black shade and applied some on her water line. Then I curled her lashes and used the Maybelline Long Extreme Stiletto on her.

For her lips, I just applied the Snoe Beso Blam for prep and then the NYX Round Lipstick in Louisiana to give her lips a touch of pink. For the finishing touch, I applied the Ever Bilena Cheek Blush in Cheek on her... Duh, cheeks.

So that’s how I came up with her makeup look. I believe this is a perfect look for graduation or recognition days. It makes your eyes stand out yet gives you that subtle look which says, “I’m young but I’m fab!” Hope you liked it and if you want to give this a try, don’t forget to share a link below of the graduation/recognition day look you’ve created.

To all the graduates of 2012, congratulations and till next blog post! ;)
