FOTD: A Fierce Facade

Countdown until my Soul Card Reading session and I must say that although I am excited, I am still scared.

This is something I would never consider trying a few years back. Although there really has been no extremely life altering event which made me do so now but I guess I have grown and have become more open to the many possibilities and options life has got to offer. I can also say it is partially because of the people I meet along the way that opened my eyes and helped me understand life better. I can honestly say that I have a good set of friends right now.

Oh, before I get misquoted from my last statement, let me just say that I have had the most amazing friends especially in college but the thing about these new women I hang out with often is that they have different opinions about life and they are very empowered and firm about their beliefs and choices. I am in total awe with how they view life and live it. I can be totally open about how I feel and what I think and they will not judge me poorly. We have more sensible and deep conversations and you will never hear the word “nose bleed” in our circle EVER.

I guess when you have found the people whom you can truly connect with, you can call it a blessing from the Higher Power up above. It is when you no longer need to hide from that fake facade you have been wearing all your life. Don’t get me wrong, I was not completely pretentious. I was just showing off this strong and independent woman outside but deep down I feel like there is something wrong. I know there is but I do not want to show it to anyone. It is because people expect you to be strong and brave and empower them as well.

It is quite hard for me to finally blurt out here in my blog that I am not completely strong. I want to inspire people and help them be better versions of themselves. I honestly do not want to show or admit this side of me but I think this is part of the process of improving my own self and to all my readers: Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be better as the months and years go by. If I, in some way, have touched and inspired you, you have done the same for me.

PRODUCTS USED:

FACE: Aerie Color Hydrating Foundation in Almond | LA Colors Loose Powder in Medium | Clinique Soft-Pressed Powder Blusher in Pink Blush

EYES: Ever Bilena Color Pencil in Brown | Ever Bilena Advanced HD Colorless Mascara | SanSan Kohl Eyeliner in Black | Miss Bella Cosmetics 120 Color Rainbow Palette | Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Waterproof in Brownish Black

LIPS: Lip Ice Lip Balm in Orange Mandarin | Avon Ultra Moisture Rich Rose Lipstick in Carmen Rose

HOW I DID IT:

Yada, yada, yada with the foundation routine so let’s now jump to the eye makeup:

After filling in my brows and setting them with my colorless mascara, I used the Miss Bella Cosmetics 120 Color Rainbow Palette to bring colors to my eyes. The #1 shade was applied all over my lids, the #2 shade was on my crease and outer lid, the #3 was for my outer lid and blended it with #2 shade and last but not the least, the #4 was for my brow bone. I, then, used the SanSan Kohl Eyeliner in Black for my waterline and the Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Waterproof in Brownish Black after curling my lashes.

The lipstick was quite plain. Lip balm then lipstick on top. Easy, right?

Realizations over a cup of coffee and intellectual conversations over ice cream – that’s how we roll. What do you think about the look (and you may want to say something about my thoughts above)?

  7. There's nothing wrong with admitting that you are not strong all the time... That admission makes you a lot atronger than you thought you are... And i don't think there's a person who is strong all the time... At some point, we are just human who have weaknesses... So don't worry about that... What matters most is not that you are strong...what matters most is that you are real... :-)

  9. aside from the loving the makeup, I love what you wrote! we all have our own insecurities. try as we might to hide them and show a different facade, there will come a time when all will just become very tiring and you just want the whole world to know the real you. Glad to know that you have a good set of friends. We all need them. :)
