“Ma, let’s go white this Chrtistmas!”
I guess I just wanted something simple and easy to sync with
everyone else. When you say red, people can come up with different shades of
red and same goes with the other colors; but when you say white – may iba pa bang shade ang white? And I
just bought a new white top so, I pushed for it.
But when it comes to my skin color going whiter is and never
will be part of the option. I mean, back then, I used to want to be fairer or
whiter because it’s how society defines beauty but then I came to the
realization that real beauty is all about accepting what God has given you,
taking care and enhancing it but never with the aim of totally altering it.
Back in college I got this mini obsession on Harajuku
fashion and that includes finding Ganguro girls sexy and gorgeous. Imagine how
these porcelain-skinned girls undergo hardcore tanning just to get a darker
skin color and here we are, morena girls, wanting to look fairer – the irony of
beauty.
For this makeup look, I was kind of inspired by Ganguro
girls but not the extreme ones. I went on having a darker skin and that pale
lips. I feel like there is something sexy concealed in this makeup look;
something I appreciated when I was admiring the Ganguro girls.
PRODUCTS USED:
FACE: L’Oreal le teint True Match in Nude Amber | LA
Colors Loose Powder in Medium | SanSan Cheek Blusher in Rosy Blush
EYES: Ever Bilena Color Pencil in Brown | ELF Wet Gloss Lash
& Brow Clear Mascara | Clinique Color Surge Eye Shadow Duo in Rosewine | SanSan

in Brownish Black
LIPS: Nanny Rose’s Queen Bee Lip Balm in Four Slices of
Raspberry Cheesecake | Skin Food Lip Gloss in The Chocolate Makes You More
Sweet & Deep
HOW I DID IT:
I started off with one pump of the L’Oreal le
teint True Match in Nude Amber at the back of my hand and dotting them onto
my face and spreading equally; then, another half pump for my under eye and
areas where blemishes are still visible. After the foundation and concealing
process, I set it with the LA Colors Loose Powder in Medium.
For my eyes, I filled in my brows with the Ever Bilena Color
Pencil in Brown and set it with the ELF Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara.
Then, I used the lighter shade in my Clinique Color Surge Eye Shadow Duo in
Rosewine all over my lids and the darker shade on my crease area; for my inner
eye corner I used the SanSan CYO Eyeshadow in Yellow Topaz to add that golden
Christmas effect. For the finishing eye makeup touches, I used the Maybelline
The Falsies Volum Express Waterproof in Brownish Black for my lashes.
For the lips, I used the Nanny Rose’s Queen Bee Lip Balm in
Four Slices of Raspberry Cheesecake and topped it with the Skin Food Lip Gloss
in The Chocolate Makes You More Sweet & Deep for those pale ganguro-like
lips. Then, I used the SanSan Cheek Blusher in Rosy Blush for my cheeks; and
I’m done!
The Makeup Look Under Different Lighting Exposures:
It’s not fancy or anything; but it’s something that still
has a touch of Christmas while maintaining my personality through adding things
I admire and like. So, what do you think of this makeup look?
