Meeting Up With Blogger Friends

August 29, 2011 - I met up with some beauty and fashion bloggers at Trinoma. I have been talking with them for quite some time on Twitter and have been interacting with them through their blogs and it really is about time that we get to see who is behind all those beauty tips and fashion posts.

I arrived at Trinoma a few minutes past two and Gie of Third World Fashion was the earliest of us all. After that, Sweethestia came with her partner and daughter and she was only able to stay for a few minutes; but good thing, we managed to have our picture taken along with new arrived Aya of Codename AyaRache of Fashion is Architect, Kai of Brew Of The Day and Jen of Shopgirljen with her daughter, the future beauty+fashion blogger, Sofi.

After Sweethestia bid us goodbye (and promised to stay longer next time), we went to Coffee Bean to wait for two more bloggers and as well as ordered our coffee and snacks there. After a few more chika-moments, Genn of MissGennD followed by Eenah of Beauty Lil Secrets came at last.

Here's what I got from ShopGirlJen!

We, then, had our mini-exchange gift as to leave a little token for each of us to be reminded of this day, being our first beauty+fashion blogger meet-up. I was able to get an Avon Lipgloss from ShopgirlJen and I was able to give my token to her as well. It's like we only had an exclusive exchange of tokens!

Shopping at Landmark

After our Coffee Bean bonding, we proceeded to our shopping. Of course, we had our exchange of opinions as what item should we buy and stuffs. I will be making a separate post regarding my mini-blogger haul.

I had a great time, too bad I had to go home early because dad tricked me into going out-of-town which was just a night out with the family. Another bonding like this soon. I hope we would be able to meet more beauty+fashion bloggers as well. See you next time! ;)

P.S. More pics at my Facebook Page!

NOTW: Just Like Minnie

Forgive the messy application. I cleaned it afterwards. This nail actually reminds me of Minnie Mouse and a dress I own which has the same design. I like this design because red can be sexy on the nails and the white dots make it cute actually. I'm gonna be wearing this nail design on the beauty bloggers meet-up in awhile so this is kind of like a quick post.

You know how I do my nails like the base coat and then the top coat after. For the color, however, I applied two coats of Caronia Desire and the dots are Caronia White Satin. In applying the dots I used hair pins again. I think I need a dotting tool now.

Anyway, I hope you like this design and if you tried it, do share it to me and post the link at the comments section below.

Thanks and till next post! ;)

Flower Power

Hola everyone! Yesterday, I went out on an impulsive "gala" with my family. We went to SM Valenzuela and I bought some cute stuffs. They're not a lot but I love them.

We went to Penshoppe and I bought these cute flower themed flipflops. I was feeling kind of retro/vintage that time so I was really looking for something specific. I was supposed to buy flats from Penshoppe as well but the Valenzuela branch doesn't have the size on the flats I want. I'm going to check out other Penshoppe stores for those flats. I got these for only P278.00.

I bought this cute vintage flower bow headband from Yhansy. They sell vintage-looking accessories and I super love the stuffs they have in their boutique. I so love headbands especially those which has cute bows, so I'm going to be a regular at Yhansy. I have bought a bow headband from them before and I'm gonna be buying more! Oh, this headband costs P140.00.

I hope you're all having a great day even though it has been raining a lot. So, have you bought anything new recently? Share it in the comments below!

G-Lish Colour Pot - Caffeine Rush

"A yummy cafe concoction no barista can whip up! Presented to you in 5 wearable colors to enhance your lids and cheeks. Apply separately or together to create a golden to bronze elegance."

The G-Lish Colour Pot in Caffeine Rush is one of the best-selling items in G-Lish. You can use it on your eyes or as a bronzer as well. It will truly give you the natural golden look every Filipina should have. Who says white is always the gorgeous one? A golden brown glow is gorgeous and HOT.

The Good Bits:

The price is worth it. For only P120.00 you can get 5 wonderful color in one very chic and easy-to-bring canister. I love the packaging of this product. It's very elegant and simple. The colors are perfect for a natural or bronzed look and this is something that every makeup kit should have. You can use on your lids or for contouring. Very versatile, right? Oh and if you think your fingers won't fit into those colors for a quick apply, my fingers actually fit. If you don't have an eyeshadow brush, you can use your pinky finger.

The Bad Bits:

This can only last for like 3-4 hours; so I suggest that you use a primer so that it can last longer. I wasn't wearing any primer when I first used it on my eyes. Aside from that, great product.

Over-All:

swatch without flash color from L-R of the colour pot
I will definitely be buying this product again. As I have said earlier, this is something every makeup kit should have for that quick touch-up you can do anywhere. For that, I'd be giving it an 8/10.

Bloggers at the Museum Cafe

I was invited to the Press Conference of Golden ABC's new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program and aside from the news from Golden ABC, which I would be blogging about soon, I also got the chance to meet fellow bloggers and get wonderful giveaways! Thanks Golden ABC!

with Geich

First, I went to the event with my good friend and emerging blogger, Geich of xoxogeich.blogspot.com. We chatted and caught up with each other's lives. Too bad she needed to go early and do something important.

I also met two of the Fashion bloggers I follow here in Blogger: Sarah of fashioneggplant.blogspot.com and Ava of artsyfartsyava.blogspot.com. They were so nice and so pretty.

The food was great. The carrot soup and the Chicken Pao is to be loved. Forgot to take a pic of the chocolate creme brulee; but you know I hate sweets so, it's okay.

After the presscon, I was able to meet Genn of missgennd.blogspot.com because she accidentally texted me and that's when I found out she was at Greenbelt 5 and I was just in 4. So, we decided to meet up with each other.

I got free stuffs like 2k worth of Penshoppe GC's, Hand Soap and Sanitizer from For Me, a notebook, lotion and shower gel from Penshoppe, sticker from Oxygen and an eco bag from Regatta.

It was definitely a great night but I got home at around 11:30 pm. Whew! What was the presscon about you ask? Will share it to you soon! ;)

The Spa Experience

Going to the private tent for my facial express

It's been a long time since I last had a pampering session. It's because of my very busy sched and although it sounds impossible, I wish I could be pampered for less than an hour because time is very precious to me.

It was impossible until I've found out about The Spa's Express Facial. It's a 30-minute facial which uses Pevonia Botanica products. Well, I've had facials from other derm clinics and I thought this will just be a normal facial experience to me; but it wasn't.

I want this at home! Hahaha! :)

When I walked inside The Spa's Trinoma branch, you will feel the relaxing ambiance even from the reception area. Since it's my first time at The Spa, I filled up a sheet and then they gave me a key for my locker. The attendant inside gave me my robe and slippers and asked if I want a shower. If only I don't have my period that day I would have said yes but I just changed to my robes and headed to the couches inside a more dimly lit room. She, then, offered me ginger tea which tasted a bit spicy but still sweet. I loved the taste.

Happy and satisfied Gelleesh! :)

Upon finishing my ginger tea, I was lead to my own tent (cool) and I felt the relaxing Mediterranean ambiance inside. As I sat on the soft reclining couch, the background music adds up on the relaxing feel. The name of my therapist was Jhen and she handled my face softly and that is how someone should treat a face. Unlike the other facials I've had wherein the therapist would make "chika" all throughout the whole process; thus preventing you from relaxing, my therapist here was very subtle and really made me relax throughout the whole process.

My favorite part was actually the last massage. It made me crave for a massage treatment next time. After the whole procedure was done, Jhen humbly asked if I would like a tip envelope and with what she did of course I said yes. She offered me another cup of ginger tea then after finishing it, I changed to my normal clothes and went out with a smile etched on my face until I got home and went to sleep.

I promised myself I would come back at least once or two times a month. The relaxing experience I had there was amazing and I know I'm worth it. The Express Facial costs P700-P900 and promise, it is all worth it.

The Spa Branches are located at: Acropolis | Trinoma | Alabang | Greenbelt | The Fort | Rockwell | Eastwood and you can visit them on the web at http://www.thespa.com.ph.

P.S. I forgot my camera so sorry for the low-res photos. I was almost late for work that day that's why I accidentally left my camera. See? I need to relax! Hahaha!

FOTD: A Bit Like Blair

This is the look I had when we went to Bulacan for my tita's birthday last Sunday. I was all femme and proper that day and so is my makeup. As you can see, I'm wearing a bow headband again. I so love bow headband, it's makes someone look young and it reminds me of Blair Waldorf from the Gossip Girl TV series. I loved the book and I loved the TV show as well. Anyway, enough of the Gossip Girl talk and let's go on to my FOTD (Face Of The Day).

PRODUCTS USED:

FACE

> Belo Essentials Day Cover
> Beauty Treats Liquid Foundation (Beige)
> Ever Bilena Single Blush-On (Rose)
> Ever Bilena Pro Longwear Loose Powder

EYES

> Ever Bilena Color Pencil (Brown)
> White Eyeliner
> L'Oreal Voluminous Naturale Mascara
> Love & Beauty Smokey Palette

LIPS

> Watsons Moisturizing Lip Balm (Sweet Strawberry)
> MAC Satin Lipstick (Mocha)

HOW I DID IT?

We all need to use a moisturizer first before anything else. This is my new new day moisturizer so I want to include this in my FOTD. It actually has spatula which makes it easier for you to apply without dabbing your finger inside of it. After applying this, I applied the Beauty Treats foundation using my new and favorite brush from Charm Pro. It's a stippling brush and I'm so loving it right now. After evenly applying the liquid foundation, I then set it off with the Ever Bilena Loose Powder.

For the eyes, I lined my brow using the Ever Bilena Color Pencil; then, I used the gray shade from the Love & Beauty Smokey Palette on my lids, The black shade on my crease and the white shade on my brow bone. To make my eyes look less tired (because I always sleep late) I used the white eyeliner on my waterline. It will make your eyes look bigger and less tired. After curling my lashes, I used the L'Oreal Voluminous Naturale mascara to create a thicker look for my lashes.

For my blush, I used the Ever Bilena Single Blush-On applying it slantly upward to make my face look thinner. Haha! Then, for the lips, I applied the Watsons Moisturizing Lip Balm, then the MAC Satin Lipstick in Mocha for a natural and subtle look.

It is a natural but noticeable look you can use during family gatherings or on a day event. As you can see, my two zits are noticeable here. The one is under my eye on the left and the other is above my brows on the right. I'm trying to maintain a natural look so no covering up of blemishes; but the pimples are also because I forgot to take off my makeup a few times last week because I was so exhausted from work that I slept on our sofa and woke up the next day without washing my face or whatsoever. Eww right? Anyway, I have learned my lesson I hope you all love this look and if you tried to re-create this, hope you could link it below. Till next blog post! ;)

NOTW: Cracking Nails

Nail art and specially designed tools and nail polishes have been coming out of the market and I felt the need to try one. One of the new kinds of nail polishes which has come out of the market is the Cracking Nail Polish. At first I was hesitant to try one because how can they crack? And what if I won't be able to apply them well?

I finally gave in! I was just about to buy a facial mask from The Face Shop when I saw their nail polishes and then their Face It Art Nails Crack Collection. I was hypnotized into buying it! Haha! Some may find it affordable but hey I am super kuripot so I was shocked that I bought a P295.00 cracking nail polish when I've seen a lot of them sold online at much cheaper prices. Only, they aren't from The Face Shop. I guess I did buy the brand.

Anyway, if you have been following my blog, you already know my drill in applying nail polishes. I just did the usual but for my base color I used the Caronia White Satin so that the crack will stand out since it's a dark shade. I applied two coats of the Cracking Nail Polish (BR801). If you only apply one coat, the crack will be small and it looks like they are just chipping so I doubled the coat to make the cracks more noticeable and larger. It worked.

It was easy to apply and be very fast in applying them because they easily dry as well. It will have a matte finish but I decided to use a top coat just to make it last longer.

Have you guys tried any cracking nail polish? How was it? Most importantly, HOW MUCH IS IT? Will you be using them again? Leave a comment and share your experience!

Till next post!

Kate Winslet on Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic surgery has been slowly but surely booming here in our country. A lot of women (even men) gets one for different reasons and they can surely justify why they need it. Personally, I do not have any issues with it; but as of now I have no future plans of getting under the knife anytime soon. Some, however, like Kate Winslet, even formed "The British Anti-Cosmetic Surgery League."

Winslet said: "I will never give in. It goes against my morals, the way that my parents brought me up and what I consider to be natural beauty."

Emma Thompson also agreed with Winslet's advocacy: "We're in this awful youth-driven thing now where everybody needs to look 30 at 60."

Again, personally, I have nothing againt people who has already done it. Some of them were able to justify why they had to do it; while I've seen some who look horrible because of it. I don't know if I'd reach the point wherein I'd want one; but it certainly isn't part of my life plan. It has its own positive and negative physical reactions. It is a risk someone has to take to achieve the look she wants.

So, before you go and decide, think it over. Do you really need it or is it just a want? Let me leave you now with the rendition of I Feel Pretty / Unpretty from the hit TV show, Glee. Hope this helps.
